JUSTICE LEAGUE Gets Its Own HBO Max Billboard, Further Heightening "Snyder Cut" Speculation

We could get a "Snyder Cut" announcement from Man of Steel director Zack Snyder later today, and a newly spotted Justice League billboard has ended up sending hype into overdrive. Check it out...

Rumour has it that Zack Snyder could announce the release of the Justice League "Snyder Cut" at the end of his live commentary for Man of Steel later today, and while we'll have to wait and see on that front, it's hard not to get excited.

Yesterday, we heard that HBO Max could be the movie's eventual home, and now a newly spotted billboard has got fans seriously hyped.

As you can see below, it features the heroes from the Justice League, and a lot of people online are convinced that this could be an early advertising effort for the aforementioned "Snyder Cut."

Honestly, it's a nice thought, but unlikely. After all, this is probably just meant to promote the fact that all the DC movies will be available on HBO Max, something which should increase interest in the streaming service for comic book fans. Of course, even if it is just a coincidence, it's a fortunate one!

If the "Snyder Cut" is indeed coming, we don't know how much Warner Bros. will choose to promote it, because them spending so much money on Joss Whedon's reshoots (only to then release the original version) is obviously something of an embarrassment for the studio.

Check out the billboard below:

Snyder Cultists when they see WB promote one of their biggest IPs for... a streaming service focusing on their biggest IPs:

@tmp3 - at this point id actually be happy if it gets released, its going to be bad, but at least Snyder and his followers will finally SHUT UP

tmp3 - 5/20/2020, 2:14 AM
@dracula - It's time we just move on. Henry Cavill is turning into the first Superman actor with a successful career outside of the tights, Ben Affleck is going back to his wheel-house of critically acclaimed mid-budget dramas, and Gadot/Momoa's takes on these characters are now the anti-thesis of Snyder's grim-dark fantasy. Really, only Ezra Miller needs this from the cast, and that's only because he seems to be unemployable outside of these films and the shitty Harry Potter prequels.
As for Snyder, maybe he should focus on the $100m Netflix film he has wrapped up, instead of sounding like such an entitled ass every week.

@tmp3 - agree, but after 2 years of these people trying, im guessing they passed the point of no return a long time ago. One day there will be a church of snyder. If the snyder cut is released and sucks they will acknowledge it’s existance but deny it as the word of their lord and savior
tmp3
tmp3 - 5/20/2020, 2:22 AM
@dracula - Lets, uh... take it down a notch, bud
dracula
dracula - 5/20/2020, 2:26 AM
@tmp3 - maybe i took it a little too far, but is it really all that different than refering to them as a cult
WarnerBrother
WarnerBrother - 5/20/2020, 2:29 AM
@tmp3 -

If it's only about WB promoting its biggest IP's why not simply put up Wonder Woman and/or Aquaman
(hit films) and not something from one that crashed and burned?

If you see Wonder Woman or Aquaman with the DC emblem, you don't need to see Batman, Superman
or the Flash to know they are promoting DCEU films on the new streaming service.

tmp3 - 5/20/2020, 2:33 AM
@WarnerBrother - You see Aquaman with his James Wan costume, so your argument kind of fails.

@tmp3 - Whoops.
Battabing
Battabing - 5/21/2020, 10:00 AM
@tmp3 - Would this even be happening had there not been a changing of the guard and new ownership/management at WB? WB and AT&T don't really give a [frick] about this. They care about the billions invested in HBO Max, and how they can get more people to subscribe.

Zack Snyder's JL is akin to Disney's The Mandalorian.

tmp3 - 5/21/2020, 10:25 AM
@Battabing - Zack Snyder's sensibilities are niche. Jon Favreau is still a populist film-maker. This won't even be 1/10th as big as The Mandalorian.
Battabing
Battabing - 5/21/2020, 10:39 AM
@tmp3 - Maybe, maybe not. There's more bang for your buck at HBO Max than Disney Plus at the moment.

If it happens good. Not because its being released. I can take it or leave it. Good, because finally people will shut up about it seriously.

Please let this end.

@UltimaRex - they shouldnt it will just encourage other wakkos into whinning until they get what they want
DarkDetective
DarkDetective - 5/20/2020, 5:40 AM
@dracula - why is it wrong for people to ask for what they want to a greedy studio? People should do this more often and MAYBE they’ll think twice before [frick]ing it up. All they did was post an hashtag, dont know why it bothers people so much.
Elbarto63
Elbarto63 - 5/20/2020, 5:48 AM
@DarkDetective - I dunno, I see it as a huge entitlement. The studio owe nothing to these fans. People dont own the characters.
UltimaRex
UltimaRex - 5/20/2020, 1:11 PM
@dracula - let's be honest here, they do that anyway. This is our ONLY shot at shutting them up for good. Let's take it!

As much as Umberto Gonzales likes to pull bullcrap out of his ass, I honestly hope the Snyder Cut (which is really just an unfinished rough cut) does get announced tomorrow just so we can stop talking about it.

Then again, if it's not a fully finished movie, will they even accept it as the real thing? What if they take finished deleted scenes and make a recut Extended Edition instead? SMH, this will probably never end...

CamtonoOfBeskar - 5/20/2020, 2:21 AM
This was a nothing movie, no matter the cut.

"We've got the heroes" no you DON'T.

Well, technically you do but you're doing [frick] all with them so it's moot.

OT: Paul Dano researched puzzles for his role as Riddler, according to his wife
https://twitter.com/NYTimesWordplay/status/1260978462430359552 (at the 3:18 mark)
Maybe this is obvious, no-shit non-news, but I guess it's better than nothing.
dracula
dracula - 5/20/2020, 2:24 AM
@tmp3 - will be nice to see the Riddler being taken seriously. Frank Goshin was great, but the riddler has moved on from that style and Carry was just a rip off of gorshin
tmp3
tmp3 - 5/20/2020, 2:26 AM
@dracula - Gorshin was my favorite baddie from the '66 show. So much fun. I love Carrey, but his Riddler sucked.
Honestly, Dano's probably the piece of casting I'm most excited for with this movie. Getting him as the Riddler's so [frick]ing cool
dracula
dracula - 5/20/2020, 2:31 AM
@tmp3 - personal favorite was penguin in the 60’s series.

Seriously not a fan of carry, i like a few of his films, but nothing that id watch regularly
tmp3
tmp3 - 5/20/2020, 2:35 AM
@dracula - To each their own, but Truman Show's in my top 3 movies of all time. Eternal Sunshine is fantastic too.
Darkknight2149
Darkknight2149 - 5/20/2020, 2:35 AM
@dracula -
I really hope they play up the idea that the Riddler is nearly as intelligent as Batman, but is constantly undermined by his narcissistic compulsion to prove his superiority by leaving clues.

I always loved the idea that Riddler is the Moriarty to Batman's detective, existing to keep his mind sharp.

F**k it, just release it. It will blow off steam and everyone will forget about it, just like DiCaprio's Oscar rush.

Snyder's plan for Part 2 and Part 3 sounded so bloody dumb.

But if the Snyder Cut releases and his fans gobble it up (as usual), we'll be stuck in another loop of them preaching that [Snyder's] non-existent Part 2 and Part 3 would have been the best thing in the world, that the general audience are just normies and couldn't comprehend his genius, etc...

The fact that Wonder Woman is in the middle and Flash isn't even on that poster.

The Justice League was really done dirty.

Not highlighting Ezra Miller on the billboard is a great thing. He'll be in the Zack Snyder cut, but hopefully not in the Flash solo film.
