When Justice League was still shooting, Ben Affleck shared some test footage of Deathstroke confirming that Slade Wilson would be the lead villain in The Batman. It wasn't too much longer after that we learned that The Raid's Gareth Evans had been tasked with helming a solo movie starring the assassin, but all those plans would ultimately fall apart.
We still got to see Deathstroke in Justice League's post-credits scene, of course, but it's believed that Joss Whedon changed that when he took charge of the project in Zack Snyder's place.
Recently, actor Joe Manganiello played coy when asked about a possible return for the reshoots which are happening in Los Angeles right now, but his has his haircut spoiled the surprise?
ComicBook.com has shared a screenshot from the Verizon 5G League of Legends: Wild Rift Invitational on Twitch from yesterday, and his appearance is definitely reminiscent of what Slade had at the end of Justice League. With Jared Leto's Joker also confirmed to return, it's hard not to wonder whether we're finally going to see Lex Luthor's "League of our own."
Time will tell on that front, but the more we learn about Zack Snyder's Justice League, the clearer it is that the filmmaker's four-part HBO Max event is going to be more than a finished director's cut.
