JUSTICE LEAGUE: Superman's Return Reportedly Happened Much Earlier In Zack Snyder's Version Of The Movie

According to Superman: The Movie actor Marc McClure (who made a cameo appearance in Justice League), the Man of Steel's return from the grave was originally set to take place much earlier in the film...

By now, it's no secret that Zack Snyder's version of Justice League was going to be vastly different to the one Joss Whedon delivered last November and with no sign of that "Snyder Cut," we're left to try and piece together what his version of the movie would have looked like. However, Marc McClure (who had a cameo in the movie as a police officer) has shed some light on at least one pretty drastic change.

According to the Superman: The Movie star, Superman's resurrection was supposed to take place nearer the start of the DC Comics adaptation, something which would have given him a lot more screentime. Seeing as Whedon reshot almost all of Henry Cavill's scenes and some pretty expensive (but still terrible) CGI was used to remove his moustache, it makes sense that his role was reduced.

"There's a big fight sequence in the park, where Superman's statue was," he explains. "And it was more at the beginning of the film. So it all got kinda changed around. I'm not quite sure why it was, whether it just didn't work with the story, I think it was such a hard sequence with the fights and everyone together where they wanted to save that moment. That would be my guess on that."

What do you guys think this change might have meant for Justice League? Rumour has it that Superman was originally going to be a villain under Darkseid's control so perhaps that's why his role was so drastically changed! Either way, you can share your thoughts with us in the comments section.

I think that would've made more sense. Especially since this is supposed to be the last in a trilogy that started with Man of Steel. How many trilogies have you heard of that have the main character of the first movie basically be a cameo in the third?

Man Superman has been sidelined in this universe. Gets one solo movie, a bad sequel, gets killed and has a small role in a Justice League film.

@DeadWade213 - I honestly forget Superman was in BVS. That just feels like a Batman movie.
