JUSTICE LEAGUE Will Be Much Lighter In Tone Than BATMAN v SUPERMAN; Is THE FLASH Comic Relief?

One of the biggest criticisms levelled at Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is that it's too dark and simply not fun enough. Well, Justice League is going down a different route by the sound of it...

With so many critics complaining about the lack of humour in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, will Warner Bros. make some alterations to Justice League when production kicks off next month? That remains to be seen, but it definitely sounds like we should expect a very different movie from this latest effort.

"Justice League is a little bit lighter because some of these characters, you have Flash, tend to be a little more comedic I'd say," producer Deborah Snyder confirms in the video above before director Zack Snyder adds: "One of the things that lightens it is having The Flash or having characters that are more optimistic. This movie is in particular is two characters who are in a crisis of conscience which sort of draws them together."

It's interesting that they both single out The Flash, but it makes sense, especially as there's no Green Lantern on the team. Be sure to keep watching the video for hints about the movie's big bad. It definitely sounds like they'll be squaring off against a major threat...

Is Snyder for sure directing still? Like for sure for sure?

@Ryguy88 - Depends how this opens

@Ryguy88 @ForDarkseid - It starts filming in three weeks. Snyder is going to direct, regardless of how fanboys feel about him. They're not shitcanning a director right before production starts on arguably their biggest film.

@ForDarkseid - They start filming in early April, so if they are gonna replace him it pretty much guarantees they delay the release. Normally I'd say this was impossible, but with all the Justice League/Superman movies that were pulled a month or several weeks before filming in the past - I can actually see WB doing this if the opening is soft or the second week numbers drop to hard.
Should be interesting.

@MattBellissimo - Sounds to me like it would be wise of WB to delay Justice League a year and secure someone like George Miller to direct. Make a sweet Batman movie in the meantime.

@Ryguy88 - If the numbers aren't high for this movie, I can see Justice League Pt ! being Snyder's last DCEU film. But he's doing that first film, whether people like it or not. Lol

@Ryguy88 - Well George Miller is a producer.

There's a glimmer of hope that Snyder's fired & Miller directs.

@MattBellissimo - If this is received by movie goers as poorly as it was by critics I don't think WB will go forward with Snyder's Justice League.

Plan A was for them to move forward with production in April, make it seem like everything is cool so as not to hamper BvS's box office; plan B is probably delay the movie, regroup and get a new director and a new draft of the script.

BvS will still make money but it wont reach its full potential if most people don't actually like the movie.

@Ryguy88 - They already did secure George Miller, to some degree... it came out sometime after the rumors from McWeeny that WB wasn't happy with the film that Snyder delivered. George Miller was quietly added to the production as a producer. Then Chris Terrio suddenly announced that he might not be writing "Justice League part 2" after his contributions to part 1.

Still, people argued that there was no truth to what McWeeny reported. It's just coincidence that new creative people were being added to the mix. Now we see that there was indeed reason WB might not be thrilled with their film.

Barring fans absolutely loving this film despite the critical consensus, I think it's a real possibility that word will eventually come of George Miller taking the helm.

@LEVITIKUZ - Yup! Producers take over for directors all the time. I'm banking on Miller taking the reigns to reinstill faith in this property.

@ForDarkseid - They would have to cancel it altogether and reschedule. I doubt that's going to happen since the film has already made its money back.

Both of Flash's cameos were the some of the best moments in BvS for me.
