WB Said To Be "Kicking The Tires" For WONDER WOMAN & AQUAMAN Movies

We already know that a shared DC movie universe depends on the success of Man Of Steel, but a report on this over at The Wrap specifically mentions two characters that WB are apparently looking at in the build up to their planned Justice League movie..

The Wrap have posted a very interesting report on how Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel can (and is expected to) re-establish Warner Bros.' grip on blockbuster franchises -- specifically by creating a shared movie universe for its DC characters. As we know, the studio has been trying to kick-start new franchises after a big gap was left when the very lucrative Harry Potter movies dried up, but previous attempts to do so (Green Lantern for one) did not bear fruit. So which titles will they be looking at if and when Man Of Steel opens those doors again? Well according to The Wrap WB are "kicking the tires on films for Wonder Woman and Aquaman. Warner Bros.’ plan would be to release two "Man of Steel" films before moving on to the "Justice League," a project everyone at Warner Bros. unofficially acknowledges is being developed." So a Man Of Steel sequel, then Justice League..or a couple of solo character outings first? This is unclear, but the report clearly mentions Wonder Woman and Aquaman -- are they just throwing out a couple of JL team members? Or do they know something about plans for those characters specifically? If its the latter they don't elaborate. What do you guys think? A Wonder Woman movie would be expected, but Aquaman?

This is going to get interesting. Now they need The Flash, Batman reboot and a Green Lantern reboot or sequel to set up for Justice League and then well, Justice League. Sounds like they're definitely going to go based off the New 52. By my guesses.

Happy to hear. Both movies would be amazing if done right. Let's not forget about The Flash though.

No offense but do we need Wonder Woman & Aquaman? I mean both mostly deal with exotic worlds and gods. Why not do Wonder Woman and Flash?

Not against Aquaman just want Flash.

Here's how I think they should see up "Phase One" of their DC Universe after hearing this news.

Man of Steel
Superman (Man of Steel 2) I have this second cause this would be top priority I'm assuming.
Wonder Woman
The Flash
Aquaman
Green Lantern, if they decide to release another solo outing for him before JL.
Batman or Justice League

NICE! I would like to see a Wonder Woman movie in God of War epic style. Aquaman could be cool if well done. But FLASH is a safer bet! Also, we don't need another solo Batman before JLA. Just introduce the new one on JLA.

Why would they go with Aquaman over The Flash? Especially given how expensive of a movie it would be.

Anyway, it's looking like a Justice League movie ain't coming out anytime soon.

I doubt they'll do another GL before JLA.

They need to get people WHO CARE about the character and the plot (like Snyder and Nolan are) instead of having the studio taking care of it and getting a director who doesn't give a [frick] about the movie (green lantern).

Flash could be DC's Spider-Man. Like Spider-Man one can say Flash is a combo of Batman and Superman.

Flash's background is similar to Batman: both are detectives (in a way with Flash), both lost their parents, both protect their cities.

Flash is similar to Superman in his morales and values. Flash isn't dark, he's cheerful and like Superman is always in the public eye.

Do Flash!!!

Aquaman could be the new Iron Man. Who was Iron Man before RDJ? A C/D-list character that no one really liked.

that sounds like a case against the Flash

Aquaman is my top choice. So much awesomeness and so different from the rest.

In truth I'd be happy with any of the original 7.

Wonder Woman if done right could be so huge for this generation

Flash really could have an epic trilogy.

Start off with him against Captain Cold. Do the new 52 Captain Cold with ice powers. I always thought he was a Mr Freeze copycat with the ice gun and it will make him different from Freeze.

Next do Professor Zoom. Zoom to Flash is basically what Joker is to Batman.

Finish up with Flash against Grodd.

Damn that trilogy sounds kick ass.

How is Flash being DC's Spider-Man a negative? Everybody loves Spider-Man.

I think it should at least be Man of Steel 2, Wonder Woman and The Flash before Justice League. Aquaman after The Flash.

@Levi: Flash is my favorite DC hero, the Barry Allen version. That being said, I agree with Captain Cold being the villain of the first movie. The New 52 version, he's much more of a threat. But, I wouldn't finish a Flash trilogy with Grodd. Finish the trilogy with Mirror Master and go with Professor Zoom for movie two. NOW you have a kick ass Flash trilogy.

Eat it bitches!!

I was just referring to how his characteristics
are so much like Bats and Supes...by your own words.

I'd love to see the Flash. He's just not my top choice.

Lets just focus on adding Wonder Woman for now and concentrate on Aquaman as the time grows closer to JLA depending on how Man Of Steel performs at the box office this week and the rest of the summer!

Wonder Woman would be sweet, but Flash is who needs a film ASAP also Aquaman would be cool if you do a Conan/Game of Thrones type of story underwater

For Flash I'd go with
Captain Cold & Weather Wizard
Gorilla Grodd
Reverse Flash

I think GL can be given a soft reboot so you don't have to totally dismiss nor acknowledge the first film....which by the way I liked :)

Or he can be brought in to the JL film without another solo film. Maybe even a cameo to re-introduce him in one of the other films

Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman
Luke Evans as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Taylor Cole as Wonder Woman
Charlie Hunnam as Barry Allen/The Flash
Chris Pine as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern

That's my fancast for the main five. Nothing original but, it can work. I love the idea of Taylor as Wonder Woman and Charlie as The Flash.

So everyone there knows they're gonna be making WW and AM movies, they just can't talk about it? No wonder they're taking so long...

That's very nice. Some folks complain about WB using the said "Marvel Formula" but c'mon, it worked! It hyped non CB readers on lesser known characters, and this isn't the 80's, the superfriends are long gone and new generations are here now.

The JL members need to get revamped before a successful JL movie.

This can get VERY interesting! I just wish they made a World's finest film first. It will be soooo long until they get the JL movie made... 2015 isn't possible anymore, unfortunately.

LEVITIKUZ - 6/13/2013, 8:42 AM
My concern with Aquaman is that you can't [frick] him up like Green Lantern. You need a badass, terrific director on the project. Then you need a badass actor involved. Aquaman is already the butt of all jokes so if this film fails, you can't do anything with him. You have to make this great due to the jokes he always gets.

There was a TV show YEARS ago called the man from Atlantis which was not too bad and they did not do a lot of filming underwater.

What does this mean for the Wonder Woman TV series?

You can't approach this scared
Nothing ventured nothing gained

This is where you redefine the character
We know how badass he can be.

I think whoever gets to the ocean first will score big points
Marvel with Namor or DC with AM
I'm being selfish because I love both

Hey I love Flash, but a movie where is racing at high end speeds the whole time has me a bit skeptical on how it will be translated on film in a solo movie.
