The Wrap have posted a very interesting report on how Zack Snyder's
Man Of Steel can (and is expected to) re-establish Warner Bros.' grip on blockbuster franchises -- specifically by creating a shared movie universe for its DC characters. As we know, the studio has been trying to kick-start new franchises after a big gap was left when the very lucrative
Harry Potter movies dried up, but previous attempts to do so (
Green Lantern for one) did not bear fruit. So which titles will they be looking at if and when
Man Of Steel opens those doors again? Well according to The Wrap WB are
"kicking the tires on films for Wonder Woman and Aquaman. Warner Bros.’ plan would be to release two "Man of Steel" films before moving on to the "Justice League," a project everyone at Warner Bros. unofficially acknowledges is being developed." So a
Man Of Steel sequel, then
Justice League..or a couple of solo character outings first? This is unclear, but the report clearly mentions Wonder Woman and Aquaman -- are they just throwing out a couple of JL team members? Or do they know something about plans for those characters specifically? If its the latter they don't elaborate. What do you guys think? A Wonder Woman movie would be expected, but Aquaman?
