In Zack Snyder's Justice League, Ray Porter plays Darkseid, and we will finally get to see his performance when the film hits the HBO Max streaming platform next year. Details about the villain's role have been teased in the past, but a new interview with the actor suggests that he filmed scenes alongside Ciarán Hinds's Steppenwolf.
Porter has thus far been careful not to give anything away, but let this slip inadvertently while reflecting on his work on the film.
"To be able to actually fully celebrate with everybody who has waited so long and worked so hard to see this film, I’m proud of it," Porter told LightCast.
"I’m proud of having done this part, I’m proud to have worked with the people that I worked with, I’m proud to know Zack and Deborah, they’re two of the greatest people you would ever want to meet. I got to act with Ciarán Hinds, whaaat?"
This means Zack Snyder's Justice League will feature at least one exchange between Darkseid and Steppenwolf, something Joss Whedon's theatrical cut didn't even hint at back in 2017.
Despite dropping this bombshell, Porter acknowledged the secrecy surrounding the project. "There's stuff that I don't want to give away, because we get to see it now. I just stayed quiet about it because I didn't want to give anything away, and I had signed that [NDA], and I don't want to mess with Warner Bros. They've always been very nice to me, and I don't want to make them mad."
We doubt they'll be too mad about this, but it's still an exciting, if somewhat minor, new reveal.
