JUSTICE LEAGUE Concept Art Features A Deleted Scene Of Lex Luthor Behind Bars In Arkham Asylum
We didn't get to spend much time with Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor in Justice League but this newly surfaced piece of concept art reveals that we could have seen the villain behind bars in Arkham Asylum.
In Justice League's after-credits scene, we saw that Lex Luthor had somehow escaped from Arkham Asylum and made it to a yacht where he met with Deathstroke to discuss forming the Injustice League.
That was it for the villain in the DC Comics adaptation despite rumours that he would have a significant role in proceedings either hiring Deathstroke to take aim at Batman or meeting with Steppenwolf after bringing him to Earth in the first place. Those scenes may have been shot by Zack Snyder but the significant reshoots and cuts made by Joss Whedon mean we'll never see them on the big screen.
Now, some concept art has surfaced which shows Luthor behind bars pondering the future. Is he trying to work out how to escape or the best way to plot the newly resurrected Superman's demise? Who knows but it's clear that the plan at one point was to put the focus on the villain in Arkham Asylum.
