Ray Fisher Shares Some Of His Inspiration For Playing Cyborg In JUSTICE LEAGUE

Like co-star Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher has been delving into a lot of comic books for his role as Cyborg in Justice League. However, the actor has revealed another surprising source of inspiration.

We really don't know what to expect from Ray Fisher's take on Cyborg in Justice League, especially as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice didn't really shed any light on the character. However, during an appearance at the Rhode Island Comic-Con this weekend, both he and Gal Gadot weighed in on their DC Films Universe roles, and Fisher dropped a few clues by shedding some light on his inspiration.

"I actually grew up watching a lot of these cartoons - a lot of the animated series. Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League, all the stuff that would come onto Cartoon Network. My first encounter with Cyborg was through the Teen Titans cartoon." As for the impact that had on him at the time, Fisher added: "You know, I was in the middle of high school [when Teen Titans debuted], and I was like, ‘This show speaks to me’ because there were all of these characters going through these real teen issues while also saving the world. The extent of my knowledge was just about that."

So, that was his introduction to Cyborg, but how much of that version of the hero will find its way into Zack Snyder's Justice League? Well, while it may influence the actor to at least some extent, it sounds like the one we'll see on the big screen is actually going to be closer to the comic books. "Once I was cast, though, they send you a whole library of stuff about the character so I ended up being able to fall in love with the comic book version which can be very different. I feel like I know him like the back of my hand, but there’s always somebody who knows a little more than me about things."

Well, he's saying all the right things anyway, though it's arguably Ezra Miller who continues to impress in terms of comic book knowledge. Here's hoping both The Flash and Cyborg deliver next November!

I'm very curious in regards to just what the Cyborg movie will focus on? Will his film be a way to bring in the Titans? I'm very confused but I'm very optimistic for the best.

He's going to evolve throughout the years the same way Tony Stark does in each new movie. An upgrade every time we see him. I'm expecting him to say BOOYAH during the final fight in Justice League.

Cyborg is one of the most complex characters in the League right now. He's constantly questioning if he's human or not, which is terrifying. What happened to him would've broken other men, but he's a young man with a pure heart. So I'm expecting some brooding from him during the beginning of the film. He hasn't accepted who or what he is now.

Also, I've always wondered what kind of Lantern Cyborg would be.
