Back before it was officially announced that J.J. Abrams would helm the first of Disney's new Star Wars flicks, /Film reported that Matthew Vaughn may have also been approached, and pitched Kick-Ass actress Chloe Grace Moretz for the lead. This rumor seemed to have evaporated when Abrams signed on, but Moretz has remained a firm fan favorite for the role since. Now when asked about this by MTV, Moretz dodges the main question but does admit that she'd definitely be interested should J.J come calling.

"I mean, obviously there's interest. It's 'Star Wars'! I'd kill to be a part of that franchise, but I don't know, J.J., I'll give you my phone number. You can text me."

We still await official casting news for Star Wars: Episode VII, but with a planned early 2014 shoot date drawing ever closer, it can't be too much longer before we hear some announcements. How would you guys feel about Moretz taking a lead role in the ,movie? You can watch the video interview over at the link below if you're living in the US.
