As Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige has overseen the most successful movie franchise of all time. His achievements are almost endless, and his story is one that's nothing short of fascinating (an autobiography would make for fascinating reading).

However, if a new rumour is to be believed, Feige may have aspirations that take him beyond the MCU.

According to The Hot Mic's Jeff Sneider, "I've heard the job that Kevin has always coveted is that of Alan Bergman." For those of you who aren't aware, Bergman served as the Chairman of Walt Disney Studios from 2020 to 2023, overseeing all of the company's movie and streaming arms, including Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar, and 20th Century Studios.

In that role, Feige would be overseeing everything, with his fingerprints all over Disney's many franchises. This would mean taking a step back from the day-to-day running of Marvel Studios, of course, and it's hard to say who would serve as his successor there.

This is just a rumour for now and just because he supposedly wants the job, that doesn't necessarily mean he'll get it. We know Feige has a great relationship with current Disney CEO Bob Iger, and the end of the Multiverse Saga might actually be a good time for the Marvel Studios boss to bid farewell to the MCU.

Then again, we find it hard to imagine him not wanting to be in charge of the X-Men's planned debut!

We'll see what happens, but this certainly isn't the first time Feige has been rumoured to land a new job at Disney. On multiple occasions, it's been reported that he's been eyed to take over Lucasfilm in place of the divisive Kathleen Kennedy, for example.

How would you feel about Feige taking on a greater role at Disney? Let us know your thoughts on this rumour in the comments section.

@Doomsday8888 - It's already falling.

I had Feige on a pedestal but lately he's turning into a mediocre leader so him overseeing all of Disney will probably result in more mediocrity, so nothing would change for Disney which would make him a good fit for the role. Wish Disney did so bad to the point they needed money badly and sell off Marvel, maybe then things could change for the better and not every Marvel movie ends up feeling the same flavor of the week.

@Typhoon20 - some of us have been calling his shtick out for years. He's been aping Favreau's tone for IM2008 ever since.

What would this mean for the MCU?

Marvel is already sinking fast. Find out whose fault it is. If it's not Kevin's, give him the job.

He's done well but time for a refresh.

I hope this does NOT happen.

If it means that Kevin will get more power to decide how projects are made, then that's not a bad thing, since he seems to care more about the creative aspect compared to other higher-ups at Disney. But it will also mean that he won't be hands-on with the MCU, so if it happens, I hope he chooses a worthy successor. Louis D'Esposito maybe? I don't know much about him, but he's been there for a while.

@Fares - at this point. Less power might be a good thing.

@McMurdo - So far I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe that he's the problem. But I don't know, I'm not a fly on the wall.

Makes sense. I hope someone comes with a great concern for quality stories over checked boxes.
