Here is a video of my personal unveiling of the Thor helmet! Thanks, comicbookmovie.com and superherostuff.com!
Designed after Thor's first appearance in 1962's Journey into Mystery vol. 1, Issue 83, this officially licensed Thor helmet from Windlass Studios was awarded to me in a contest sponsored by comicbookmovies.com and superherostuff.com. And all I had to do was click 'Like!'
The helmet itself is made out of chrome-plated steel while the wings themselves are made out of fiberglass and painted white, mimicking the classic comic book colors. It also has a nifty feature: a synthetic leather fitting device inside the helmet with a drawstring closure that makes wearing it more comfortable. However, I doubt anyone could wear this thing for long, it weighs in at an impressive 18 pounds!
It also includes a certificate of authenticity that states this product is only one (#412)out of 1000, and is guaranteed to be a licensed product.
Also contained is a background history:
"While in Norway, Donald Blake stumbled onto a Kronan scout's spaceship and flees into a cave. In a secret chamber, Blake discovers a plain walking cane. Frustrated and scared, he strikes a boulder with the cane, transforming it into Mjolnir, a magical hammer and himself into the God of Thunder,Thor. He defeats the aliens, who retreated from Earth. By tapping the ground with Mjolnir, he transforms back into Donald Blake, holding a simple wooden cane. Returning to New York, Blake uses his secret identity of Thor to fight crime and defend Earth. He eventually becomes one of the greatest heroes of The Avengers."
It also comes with a display stand made of what I assume is aluminum with a wooden base, screened with a snazzy Asgardian design and a small (appx. 1 1/2") identification emblem.
