Christmas is the time of the year where the world stops for a few weeks to rejoice in what they call the "holiday spirit." I was watching this really good movie a few days ago called
The Perfect Gift where this 'drifter' called Jes comes into a local town. What follows is the town rediscovering what the term Christmas is. The point is to never forget why we celebrate it in the first place. Now, one of the most fun parts of this holiday is....gifts! You've already read some lists from my fellow colleagues, below are some of the things I would like to officially own.
Media Blaster's Blu-Ray
DESTROY ALL MONSTERS
Amazon
$29.98
If the fact that this is the FIRST Godzilla Blu-Ray release doesn't get you excited, I don't know what will. I have the infamous ADV release. (No menu, no scene selection.) I could use a replacement. My gosh, just look at that gorgeous cover.
DESTROY ALL MONSTERS may not be the best Godzilla film, but the final fight with the ten monsters against Ghidorah in Blu-Ray is worth the money alone.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Gamestop
$49.99
Like fellow colleague
WaylonJones, I've been playing the Zelda games for awhile. My favorite is actually
Twilight Princess, and I keep hearing how
Skyward Sword is being accepted as the greatest Zelda game of all time. (Which is quite a surprise, considering that the majority of fans are very passionate about
Ocarina of Time.) And just look at that gold cover, probably the most beautiful box-art I've ever seen for a game.
Bandai's Final Wars Gigan 6.5 inch
Amazon
$16.99
Just look at that monster. This figure is the definition of "cool." Gigan is my favorite Godzilla character, I already have his 70's Showa form, but it's time to upgrade to this, the
Final Wars version.
Batman Arkham Asylum
Gamestop
$17.99
Expecting
Arkham City to be here?
Arkham Asylum is regarded as the greatest comic book game of all time, and I'm sad to say that I never got it. I'm not even sure why, I guess there was always more important games to get. But, no longer will this not sit in the living room next to the PS3. I've waited far too long to get this game.
Godzilla: Gigan tee
Amazon
Price varies
I happened to be on Amazon searching for Godzilla t-shirts one day, and I came across this monster. My favorite monster? On a t-shirt?! I need this. Due to it being a bit pricey for a t-shirt, haven't gotten it yet.
Super Mario 3D Land
Gamestop
$39.99
Besides Marvel, besides Godzilla, the main franchise I grew up with is Super Mario. I LOVE these games.
Super Mario Galaxy was a world-changer for the video game landscape, and this game is being done by the same team that did
Galaxy. Mario in 3D? I am so getting this. Best thing on this list.
Spider-Man: The Clone Saga Epic, Books 1-5.
Amazon
Price ranges for each paperback.
I, as a longtime Spider-Man fan, have always heard about the infamous
Clone Saga story. I've actually never read it, and I need to as a Spidey fan.
And those are some of the things I would like to get this year. Of course, I won't be able to get every single one of those things, but I'm content with whatever I receive.
See you all in my next review.
