With the recent Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. confirmations ahead of their big-screen outing in 2018 and several high profile comic arcs, Marvel definitely have big things in the pipeline for The Inhumans. The latest is a new ongoing series called Uncanny Inhumans (they really love that adjective huh?) from writer Charles Soule and artist Steve McNiven which kicks of with issue #0 this April. IGN reveal that Black Bolt will be the main focus, though he is currently believed dead by all but his fellow Illuminati members, and the villain will be Kang the Conqueror. Here is the issue #0 cover along with a variant by Simone Bianchi, and be sure to click the link below for a very interesting interview with Soule as he reveals a few more details, and even gives his thoughts on Vin Diesel potentially playing Black Bolt!

Uncanny Inhumans #0 cover by Steve McNiven.

lol Marvel is so [frick]ing cheap. They just slap "Uncanny", "Superior" or some other bullshit in front of an existing title and it's suddenly "new".

I said I was going to stop purchasing comics this year(issue by issue anyway) but with the new Secret Wars, a Gamora series and now THIS?! I might have to reconsider....

If they announce a Dr. Strange & Black Panther series this year(strong possibility), I might as well hold off on my promise till next year or the year after.lol

I know he's not going to stay on the book long but I hope McNiven does at least 6 issues...

Black Bolt is bald on the cover. Usually he is depicted as having hair.

what does Vin Diesel know???

This slapping uncanny and amazing in everything is way past old.

Why not give it a title? Like inhumans: a new beginning and go from there.

Are they trying to replace x-men with inhumans?

LOL!

Dammit, you're right!!!!

I hope this isn't some sort of subtle confirmation that my darkest fears will be realized.

@Nomis lol. Comics are expensive these days! $3.99 or 4.99 for an issue?! Depending where I go, I could get a small meal for that.

With "Uncanny" as adjectives for both new Avengers and Inhumans books -it's pretty safe bet that Marvel is looking to marginizing the uniqueness of mutants. Marvel is really beefing up the Avengers and Inhumans presence within its universe.

I was also gonna say looks like black bolt is bald on the cover, does he normally have hair? Are they setting up bald bolt for Vin Diesel?

Poor Vin Diesel seems to end up in or pushing for comic book and cartoon roles where he either says only a handful of words...or nothing at all.

I personally think that's for the best.
He's got a great voice but he's a pretty average actor.

We just keep getting closer and closer to comic heroes being drawn as if they were your workout obsessed uncle wearing spandex.
Stop it with the UBER REAL life like drawing styles.
More stylistic expression – less art school accuracy!

PLEASE NOTE: Do not respond as if I'm crying for the return of Rob Liefeld, Don Simpson, or Roy Burdine! I don't want bad art. I just want art that does more than reproduces real life body builders (like that above).

After reading War of Kings I have a new found respect for the Inhuman royal family. I would love to see a version of War of Kings from the MCU as a sequel to Inhumans.

@Nomis

You ARE right of course.
However, I would like it if they'd come up with a new adjective now and again.

Unheard-of

Phenomenal

Extraordinary

Legendary

Unearthly

any of these works for me!

@Melkaticox

Agreed! In fact I even thought that was clever.
They mistook their cleverness in rebranding for a eureka marketing epiphany. They thought, "Hmmm, people LOVED it here . . . lets do it everywhere!"

"The Unearthly Inhumans" works for me.

Right amount of old school comic camp mixed with badass and it is actually poignant on many levels.
JvIce

The problem is that "uncanny" was always a X-Men thing. That's the reason the unity squad ongoing is called Uncanny Avengers and that's the reason this Uncanny Inhumans doesn't work.
