RUMOR: Is the title of the Spider-Man reboot, The Amazing Spider-Man?

An IMDb user by the name of thrill kill, claims someone he knows from NY that is saying the title will be The Amazing Spider-Man.

Usually IMDb users cannot be trusted more than Superman can injure the Hulk, but I thought this was interesting and decided to make an article on it.

Here's what thrill kill posted:

"I was told by someone I know in NY saying they got a glimpse of one of the set chairs earlier last night, saying the title was "The Amazing Spider-Man 3D"
can anyone confirm this? I havn't really been following this film, so I apologize in advance if my comment sounds dumb, because it obviously states on imdb 'Untitled Spider-Man Reboot'
just wondering if there was someone else who caught the title on set as well."

When I checked his message board history, I also found that he commented on a post saying:

"Yeah, I've heard from about three people who have seen stuff on the set saying it was THE AMAZING SPIDER MAN
might as well announce it."

So now's its three people?

Anyways, the untitled Spider-Man reboot will be released on July 3rd, 2012 starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, C. Thomas Howell, Denis Leary, Chris Zylka, Julianne Nicholson, Campbell Scott, Annie Parisse, and Miles Elliot. So what do you CBMers think about this title? Pesonally I think this would be an excellent title, but unfortunately I don't trust an IMDb user's claim.

The Amazing Spider-Man sounds good. I'd rather see something like Spider-Man Begins or even Spider-Man Reborn, but Amazing Spider-Man would be good.

Everybody, If you look at what all the crew members are wearing and know your spider-man history, you'd know that that is a set pic form the 1970s Spider-Man TV series which, coincidently, is also call "The Amazing Spider-Man".

@LEEE There's all kinds of ideas going around. I wouldn't put much faith in what the title is unless it's confirmed directly from someone on the production team.
Anyways, why the heck is this not on the front page? If they can put the Robin Williams as Hugo strange rumor on the frontpage, then this should be too.

This would be so much more beleivable if they were actually shooting in NY right now.

But they're still in LA.

The Amazing Spider-Man was my first choice... if not Ultimate Spider-Man, The Spider-Man, Spidey, Web-Slinger, or Amazing Fantasy haha.
