According to Deadline, Skyfall looks set to be a massive hit at the UK box office this weekend. This hardly comes as a surprise, but it's thought that the latest Bond movie will smash the records set by the last two Daniel Craig outings. While Sony aren't expected to release the official numbers until later today or early tomorrow, sources close to the studio tell the site that "Skyfall opened as Britain's all-time biggest Friday opening and biggest opening weekend." It's now on course to earn a whopping £20 million for the weekend ($32.2M), surpassing the opening weekend's of both Casino Royale (£13.37M/$21.53M) and Quantum of Solace (£15.38M/$24.77M). The fact that the Sam Mendes helmed film is being shown between 75 and 100 times in round-the-clock screenings helps these figures. When it finally opens in the US on November 9th, it's thought that it may end up grossing upwards of $215M. Be sure to click HERE to read my 5* review of Skyfall.
UPDATE: We now have some specific numbers (in dollar form at least) for Skyfall's international opening courtesy of our friends over at @ERCboxoffice.
