A cool, new take on the classic Dark Knight franchise, Beware the Batman incorporates Batman’s core characters with a rogues gallery of new villains not previously seen in animated form. Along with backup from ex-secret agent Alfred and lethal swordswoman Katana, the Dark Knight faces the twisted machinations of Gotham City’s criminal underworld led by the likes of Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad and Magpie. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation (WBA), this action-packed detective thriller deftly redefines what we have come to know as a “Batman show.”
Part of Cartoon Network's DC Nation Block, 'Beware the Batman," is a CGI animated program debuting on July 13th at 10 AM. The series follows the exploits of Batman, Alfred and Katana as they battle evil-doers such as Anarky, Magpie, Ra's al Ghul, Tobias Whale, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad, Humpty Dumpty, King Kraken, Axel Alex, and Ten-Eyed Man. Anarky will be the primary antagonist of the first season. The series producers have stated that Batman is in the early stages of his career in maybe year five or six. Alfred is characterized as a MI6, Sean Connery - James Bond type retired secret agent who once possessed physical skills on par with Batman during his prime but now he's in his 60s. Sam Register serves as executive producer with Glen Murakami and Mitch Watson handling the finer details as producers. Sam Liu, Rick Morales and Curt Geda will direct individual episodes.
