Yet More Info From Hugh Jackman On "Wolverine 2"

MTV seem to be releasing snippets of this interview day by day. Some good stuff here though. Jackman talks about some new characters we will see in the next movie...without naming names of course!

"['Wolverine 2'] will be very different from the last 'Wolverine' movie, and that's what I like about it," Jackman told MTV News. "I didn't want it to feel like the same thing. ... It's a whole new environment and the storyline is unbelievable. I wish I could announce to you some of the people involved."

He doesn't reveal any names but those hoping for fewer mutants for Wolvie to share screen time with next time around are in for a disappointment because...

"There will be a lot of new mutants," he said. "There will be a lot that are in the book."

That doesn't sound like a particularly faithful adaptation of Miller and Claremont's Japan saga! Jackman says they will have to "pick and choose" parts to adapt but promised that the film will be "fairly faithful" to the comics.

"Like all the Wolverine and X-Men stories, they're long," he said of the source material. "If you put together all the Japan saga stories, it's so long."

With a few other X titles in development, is it possible that Wolverine could cameo in any other movies?

"All those guys came in and helped me out, [so] if it was alright and the stars were aligned, I'd do the same," he said. "I'm not exactly sure what the studio planned, [and] I don't have any say in that, unfortunately. But I'd love to."

Cool! I wonder, when he said new mutants did he mean THE New Mutants? Doubtful considering the time frame of the japan saga...but I wouldn't put anything past Fox!

hahaha wow "fairly faithful"...just the way he said that sounded unconvincing, which probably isnt good this early on into the whole thing.

either way, i'll still line up to see it, i wont be able to help myself. i really hope that they improve on some of the things that the other one lacked though...

Fox are just a studio! They will all get involved when they are allowed to. Fox only got involved with Wolverine so much because they were allowed to! A director with balls can wrap a studio around his little finger. Look at Tarantino? That dude has Harvey Weinstein..the most notoriously miserable git producer in Hollywood..eating out of his hand. If they get a director for the next one that sticks to his guns..provided they are fan friendly guns in the first place of course!..You won't see a big Fox footprint on the movie. Hire Clint Eastwood!

Hopefully whoever they do get as director will stick to their guns and make it an R-rated movie. I am not saying it should be gory though but a little blood wouldnt hurt. Hopefully we will see Logan go up against the Hand in the sequel.

hopefully they dont screw the pooch on this one!

@ironknight..Well, i think that is one thing that will never happen under Fox unfortunately. They seem to be absolutely terrified of blood in CBMs. Its a shame you guys don't have a medium rating. It jumps straight from PG13 to an R right? Here we have a 15 rating, which allows moderate blood, sex and language without being too graphic.

ironknight27 - 8/13/2009, 3:25 PM
Its funny though what they do get away with under a PG-13 rating though.

I'm all for a straight up adult themed Wolverine movie. That would be the shyte! And I do have to say, the level of HuJack's enthusiasm is heartening to me. I happened to like Wolverine, as long as you seperate yourself from the comics for the most part (kind of like Fuel and Refuel from metallica). Can't wait to see what they do this time around.

Better plot and NO [frick]ING ADAMANTIUM ANYTHING this time around (well except for Wolverine's bones of course). And no bloody mutants that dont need to be in there. Seriously, Gambit and Blob? WTF were they thinking? Fox, the money-hungry fools! Please let there be mutants actually relevant to the story and let their characters actually be developed this time around, unlike Agent Zero who actually lived up to his name with zero character development! Maybe Silver Samurai or someone like that. And please let this movie lead up to X1, with no more Wolverine prequels. Also, this movie should be over two hours long this time, unlike Wolverine 1 which was over before I could blink

Joe was actually surprisingly violent..for a movie aimed at 7 year olds!

LEE: stop whining like such a bitch just because your picks lost in the polls.

Sounds like this movie will just be cameo after cameo like Origins...Fox just ruin everything! Rollon the day when the rights go back to Marvel!

Personally I didn't think wolverine was that bad. I rather enjoyed it. Hopefully the 2nd one kicks butt.

@Leee, don't be so down, you take some of this stuff way too seriously.
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 8/13/2009, 4:18 PM
spideysweb: yeah, i actually enjoyed Wolverine as well - they botched a few things like Deadpool but it wasnt the worst CBM by a long shot! it just seems that all of Fox's CBM's are ok but have more bad points than good! i dont know why but just look at the screw ups in FF (cloud Galactus!) Fox have all these great character but screw them up! Elektra and Daredevil should have been great..! :(
spideysweb
spideysweb - 8/13/2009, 4:30 PM
@josh, couldn't agree more. Fox has in fact screwed things up and they would be much better if Marvel had full control. What the hell were they thinking when they did the whole cloud thing with Galactus??? How do you check out fan fic?
