@emeraldtaurus

That’s a very spoilery question ... the fathers mission was to find intelligent life. Whether he finds it or not I don’t want to answer.

The movie is also very divisive. I loved it - thought it was great. But a lot of people hated it.

@emeraldtaurus - Yes there is an alien creature, one specifically that shows up during the last 30 minutes of the movie in flashback scene. They reveal this alien landed on Earth during the 80s and was secretly captured and found from UFO sightings. The mission Tommy Lee Jones character was on was to discover the origins of the alien in deep space. Many astronauts tried but none have returned successfully. The urgency of the situation comes from when they intercepted a strange message in space and the threat of more arriving could be soon. Brad Pitt doesn’t find his father only his ship on a distant planet and discovers one final message sent from him where he has completed his mission on finding other alien life. The ending is left very open on what happens next.

@PsychoManiacJacky - Missed opportunity for a MIB synopsis.. The ol' switcheroo..

I like to throw in some Karate Kid, but MIB is appropriate.. Lol..
