Production on
Stranger Things season 3
kicked off this week, and Netflix celebrated the milestone with a brief video teasing a table read that took place on Monday. The goosebumps-inducing teaser video shows just glimpses of the incredible cast - both familiar and new faces - coming together for a new adventure.
One face you’ll definitely recognize is Priah Ferguson at the end. Ferguson plays the fan-favorite character Erica Sinclair, Lucas’s headstrong little sister who had a minor, but entertaining role in season 2. Netflix
announced earlier in the year that Ferguson has been upgraded to a recurring role on the show as Erica will have her own
"army of friends" who will find themselves on
"a wild mission to save Hawkins from a dangerous new threat."
You might’ve also noticed the name Maya Hawke. She is a newcomer to the cast as well, playing the character Robin. Described as an angsty
“alternative girl,” Netflix
teased Robin
“seeks excitement in her life and gets more than she bargained for when she uncovers a dark secret in Hawkins, Ind."
As for the rest of season 3, details are sparse at the moment; although, we do know it
will feature a time hop from season 2 and pick up in 1985. We also know that the relationships between Mike and Eleven and Max and Lucas will be
“going strong,” although producer Shawn Levy hinted at some instability since, you know, they are only 13 or 14-year-old kids. Levy also previously teased that we haven’t seen the last of
“Dad Steve [Harrington].”
Unfortunately, today’s video did not include a release date for
Stranger Things season 3, but it is expected to premiere sometime in 2019.
