Simon Pegg Believes The Current STAR WARS Movies Are Missing George Lucas

While George Lucas faced the wrath of fans for the Star Wars prequels, Simon Pegg - who starred in The Force Awakens - has now revealed why he thinks the current films could do with input from the creator.

Simon Pegg has been very outspoken over the years about the Star Wars franchise and has never shied away from tearing into the much-maligned prequels. When Disney purchased Lucasfilm, most fans were happy to learn that George Lucas would no longer be involved with the franchise (his outline for a new trilogy was scrapped early on) but Pegg has now changed his mind!

Despite admitting that he's a fan of the modern Star Wars movies, the Mission: Impossible - Fallout star admitted that he misses Lucas' voice and vision in the long-running series.

"I must admit, watching the last Star Wars film, the overriding feeling I got when I came out was, 'I miss George Lucas,'" Pegg said on The Adam Buxton Podcast. "For all the complaining that I'd done about him in the prequels, there was something amazing about his imagination. I do feel like his voice is missing from the current ones."

With Pegg's friend J.J. Abrams back at the helm for Star Wars Episode IX, it will be interesting seeing whether or not Pegg is included in any way or if he may have cooled off on the franchise after The Last Jedi (a statement which is true for a lot of fans).
