Aaron Taylor Johnson On Whether Or Not He Will Reprise His Role In GODZILLA 2

Aaron Taylor Johnson (as you know) has signed on with the Marvel Cinematic Universe for Avengers: Age of Ultron. Once an actor does this, they have endless possibilities and can appear in many films going forward. Example, Robert Downey Jr. signed on for the first Iron Man film, from there he's never looked back. The same thing goes for Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, etc. Now we have Aaron Taylor Johnson who has signed on to play Quicksilver in the MCU! What does this mean for his role in the Godzilla franchise? Well, while talking with Cinema Blend, Aaron Taylor Johnson revealed that him appearing in the Godzilla sequel is up to Gareth Edwards. "Our director, Gareth Edwards, is off shooting a Star Wars movie now, so I think, you know, and he was a huge influence on the franchise. So I think they’re waiting on Gareth, and then when Gareth gets around, they will all jump in a room, brainstorm, and do their thing." He then continues, "I don’t know if I’d be a part of it, if it would be set somewhere else, if it’s going to be in the future. ... It’s just kind of, it’s just so broad."

Along with Aaron Taylor Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen also appeared in Gareth Edward's Godzilla. So, if Taylor-Johnson reprises his role, there's a good chance she will as well. If not, it'll be interesting to see what Gareth Edwards has in store for the Godzilla sequel (which is set to feature King Ghidorah, Rodan, and Mothra)! Would you want to see Aaron Taylor Johnson reprise his role in the film or at least make an appearance?
Godzilla 2 is set to release June 8, 2018. Sound off below with your thoughts!

From the great kick-ass movie to the mediocre Godzilla to another upcoming mediocre movie.

Man.. this guy is my first choice for Spider-man back in 2010.

And the fact that he was so bad in Godzilla just baffles me. He was good as Kick Ass, great as John Lennon and now he seems like a good Quicksilver. I blame the script and the joyless directing.

he's referring to AOU.
Just ignore him, they eventually go away when they get no responses

@Doopie I would be on board with that. The Rock makes everything more action packed. The Rock for everything. Badass jedi in SW, badass super hero in DCCU, badass cop anywhere, badass robot in Terminator, badass pirate on POC, ... I could even see him as a badass scientist on the rebooted Jurassic world franchise.

It took me a while to see Godzilla for what it was; a great movie at that.

@Doopie Rock as the thing! that blew my mind.

Musicals, hell yeah! He can certainly sing better than the Gladiator, he should have been on the miserables.

Why not period dramas - action flicks. The Rock would be perfect for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Aaron Taylor Johnson shouldn't come back, he had the same amount of charisma as plank from Ed, Ed and Eddie

@AXE @Doopie Nick Mundy and the Rock become drift compatible and learn to pilot a Jaegar. Then take on Godzilla and Mothra.

The Ultimate crossover mixed with the ultimate bromance.

But mostly I just want to see the Rock interact with Charlie Day

in what was an above average movie he and Olsen sucked and felt completely uneccessary.
I would love to se a PAcific Rim/Godzilla crossover...
