A Lightsaber Duel & The Millenium Falcon Depicted In More STAR WARS: EPISODE VII Concept Art

Not content with those awesome Chrome Trooper pics from earlier on, Indie Revolver have now debuted some exciting concept art from J.J. Abrams' Star Wars flick. In it, 2 unknown figures clash lightsabers near the Falcon as a third looks on with their blaster raised.

We've seen set images of the real Millennium Falcon, but the concept art above gives us an idea of what context Han Solo's iconic ship might be used in the movie, for what looks to be an exciting action scene. A black-clad figure (presumably Sith) clashes lightsabers with another warrior (presumably Jedi) and a fairly nondescript third character watches with their blaster drawn. Who are they? Even without a decent close-up we can tell that there really isn't a lot of detail, so it's a safe bet that the designs weren't based around any specific actors/characters when they were laid out. By that same token, there's no guarantee this scene or even one like it will actually wind up in the finished film. Still, it's a nice glimpse into the creative process, and I'm sure you can draw your own conclusions as to who they may represent! What do you think?

I need to stop clicking on these Star Wars: Episode VII articles . . .

But, since I'm here . . . is this the scene where Driver duels with Boyega, and is carefully approached by Gleeson?

hopefully they don't hold back with the duels. the past couple of star wars video game cutscene duels were ten times better than the movies. give me that and u can have my money

Green light saber = Luke maybe

Vs. Large and imposing sith... Maybe Gwen Christie? And is she going to be a bad guy?

Although I'm not sure about her hairstyle for this movie but what if it's Gwen in the foreground with the gun (the hair matches her hair style on GoT. And Luke is fighting an unknown sith, maybe dooku's offspring ( remember he was a tall and imposing sith)

Shots in the dark anyone?.....

Green lightsaber guy's pose feels like a Luke pose. He's holding it low and at his side. Reminds me of the RotJ poster.

Oh my God! A Star Wars movie with lightsabers. What will they think of next?

Come on guys! This is concept art, as is the chrome storm trooper. Doesn't mean anything. It's to visualize ideas and see what may or may not work. They give a bunch of artists some ideas and let them go to town and be creative. The artists hope their stuff is used or becomes a poster or something so they can sell art. If this was a scene being used (or the chrome storm trooper) do you really think we'd be seeing it by some random artist.

Example: We saw the Enchantress and the Headsman concept art for both Thor movies, but they were never in the movies at all.

I like lightsabers as much as the next guy, but it wouldn't kill them to do some non-Jedi stuff.

Like I said in the article, this doesn't mean we'll see this scene depicted in the film, but it doesn't mean we definitely won't either. Official concept designs are used by costume designers, storyboard artists, location scouts etc..and a lot of the time the artist is given details on a scene from the script to work from.

@Ror-Maybe you can weigh in on this. Why is this movie going to end up taking so long to be released. They have been filming for some time now, similar to Age of Ultron when you think about it. Age of Ulton is being released this summer.

They are waiting until December 2015, really? I know they want to get things right, I respect that, one saw that in the Star Trek series as well.... But really?

Frustration....

honest question, does the large figure's lightsaber look more yellow-orange than red??

not sure what that could mean, if anything. I ask because I'm not as versed in Star Wars as most. And no I'm not colorblind.

It just doesn't look like the red that "pops" or stands out. Luke's saber is clearly green, it stands out. the large figure's lightsaber color looks more like the sky above the Falcon. And if you look close, you can see the artist used red letters/numbers on the Falcon wing near the window. It's not the same red, if that's red, in the large figure's lightsaber.

I hope we see this. That tall, ominous figure seems to be brandishing a yellow saber. Sweet!

@DrWhoCares what also supports this rumor/theory is the set photos of a half built Falcon. It's possible that half built Falcon is what they'll set on fire.
