CAPTAIN MARVEL Star Brie Larson Says She Auditioned For ALL The New STAR WARS Films

Captain Marvel star Brie Larson has reflected on more big roles she missed out on, confirming that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story wasn't the only film set in a Galaxy Far, Far Away she tried out for!

Recently, Captain Marvel star Brie Larson confirmed that she had auditioned for the role of Jyn Erso in 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Felicity Jones would ultimately land that part, but the Oscar-winner now confirms that it wasn't the only film set in a Galaxy Far, Far Away she tried out for.

In a new video shared to her YouTube channel, Larson reveals that she auditioned for all the new Star Wars films, suggesting she tried to land the roles of Rey (in Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and Qi'ra (in Solo: A Star Wars Story). Alas, it seems she wasn't the right fit for eiither.

"I didn’t get Gossip Girl, and I’m really glad. I auditioned for Hunger Games and I didn’t get it. I auditioned for Tomorrowland and I didn’t get it. I auditioned for all of the new Star Wars movies and I didn’t get it. I don’t even know why I’m saying I didn’t get it. Like, you know I didn’t."

Larson made her big blockbuster break with Kong: Skull Island, though it was Captain Marvel that put her on the map in a huge way (not that she really needed to be after winning on Oscar). It's hard not to wonder how different those Star Wars films might been with her in them, however.

So like most actors she auditioned for a lot of things and didn't get it. Is this really news.

Sylvester Stallone was almost Superman, but Marlon Brando had a say in who got the part and turned him down (stallone hated him for that)

Melissa Benoist was the second choice for Thea on Arrow (wow that would be different)

@dracula - Dustin Hoffman was the first choice for Lex Luthor but he said no

@tmp3 - Jamie Alexander could have auditioned for Wonder Woman, either Marvel or Disney didn't let her

One actress who was considered for multiple Star Wars films was Tatianna Maslany, seriously underrated actress, surprised she hasnt had much since Orphan Black ended.

Considering how most of the movies turned out, id say Tatianna and Brie dodged a bullet, although think Tatianna would have been even better than Felicity Jones in Rogue One

lel, seeing how these Brie articles work on this site (or everywhere else for that matter) people are either giving me the benefit of the doubt here or i legit got Scott Free with this comment cause they have yet to watch that movie.

Either way, it's funny af. :P

I understand there are a bunch of 'anti-SJW' Youtubers who hate Larson with a passion and I used to think they were trolling toolbags.

But the more I think on it, a struggling Youtuber, new on the scene, has to fight for each subscription and share etc. But Brie Larson just pops on to Youtube, creates an account, and boom, she has several million subscribers within minutes.

She has no 'content generation' plan and seems to be winging it, compared with the hundreds of dedicated manhours other youtubers put in to their output. It seems unfair and makes her look like a typical Hollywood, disingenuous hack.

Well if she was in Star Wars she probably wouldn't have joined the MCU. So, things worked out just fine.

@WakandanQueen - Yeah, most of the star wars movies have been crap, and while her MCU debut was nothing special, there is plenty of time for her movies to improve. Hopefully now that they dont have a big team up coming up, they spend more time on Captain Marvel 2 and work out the problems, cause yeah, while they werent bad, Antman And The Wasp and Captain Marvel were the weak link int he consistently good phase 3.
