Colin Trevorrow Isn't Directing STAR WARS; Darth Maul Voice Actor ALSO Wants To Return

Less than a day after an old interview seemingly confirmed that Colin Trevorrow would be helming Star Wars: Episode VII, the director has made it clear that he will NOT be working on the film for Disney. Peter "Darth Maul" Serafinowicz also joins the long list of actors who want a role. Check it out!

It seems that we've moved on from director's saying they want to helm Star Wars: Episode VII to them now categorically denying their involvement with the project. Safety Not Guaranteed's Colin Trevorrow seemed like one of the most likely choices out of all those so far connected to the Disney film, but after a video interview surfaced last night which seemed to confirm that he did indeed have the job, Trevorrow quickly took straight to his Twitter account to clear this up once and for all.

Meanwhile, Digital Spy caught up with Darth Maul voice actor Peter Serafinowicz to ask him for his thoughts on the plans for a new trilogy of movies. After expressing his disappointment with the prequels, he added: "I'm super-excited. I'd love to be involved in some way with it. I got to work with one of my all-time heroes. It just ended up being disappointing, because it was the most anticipated cultural event of my life - and many other people's lives. And particularly because I was so involved in it. Well, I wasn't really that involved in it - I say about four sentences in the whole thing!" It was of course Ray Park who played the now iconic Phantom Menace villain, and while Serafinowicz clearly isn't taking a return TOO seriously, how would you feel about Darth Maul being brought back somehow?
