Do These Trading Cards Reveal A Huge SPOILER From STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS?

There's been a lot of speculation about who will be a Jedi in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and now a trading card set may have spilled the beans! Based on a lot of the recently released promo material, it's probably not who you're expecting, so read on for details...

In both the poster and Instagram teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Finn (John Boyega) is depicted holding a lightsaber. That came as something of a surprise, and was more than a little disappointing considering the fact that many fans hoped this new trilogy would focus on a female Jedi with Daisy Ridley's Rey. Well, if the trading cards below - spotted by Latino-Review - are anything to go by, Finn will simply be a Rebel, while Rey will indeed be a Jedi. Him wielding that lightsaber could be misdirection, especially if he ends up just picking it up to hold off Kylo Ren at some point in the movie. Now, there's nothing to say these cards mean anything, but it's possible!

There's been a lot of speculation that Rey is the daughter of Han Solo and Princess Leia, something which makes sense if this new Star Wars trilogy is going to continue telling the story of the Skywalker clan. Do you guys think Rey is going to be a Jedi or do you believe/hope it will be Finn who has a connection with the Force? As always, let us know your thoughts and theories below.

Rey is a Jedi! That stick probably holds a lightsaber!

It also has Kylo Ren as a Sith!

Which contradicts JJ Abrams previously saying he's not a Sith. However like others mentioned, he could be intentionally lying as he did with Khan.

@LegendayOutlaw - "Rey is a Jedi! That stick probably holds a lightsaber!"

I assumed her staff would be like Darth Maul's dual lightsaber.

Clearly, we're not alone. And this looks BADASS!!!

I would like to see Finn train as one at least. I want Finn to be force sensitive.

@JoshWilding

Idk if you saw my previous comment, but you might want to add these cards also indicate Kylo Ren is a Sith or aligned with the Sith.
(Which contradicts JJ previously stating Kylo is not a Sith.)

And while we're assuming Rey's staff has dual lightsabers, it makes me even more excited knowing Daisy Ridley trained with the same fight choreographer who trained Pedro Pascal on Game of Thrones.

NOPE! This contradicts Abrams statements...it has Kylo as a Sith and Abrams said HE IS NOT SITH, HE'S A KNIGHT OF REN. I truly belive Finn is a jedi. I don't think it's misdirection. He and Rey could both be jedi

NOT A SITH

IS A JEDI

I'll be more than happy if bae is a jedi

Not really that surprising. I was pretty much expecting Rey to be a jedi, the only question is whether or not Finn is really going to be one. The Finn with a lightsaber just sorta screamed misdirection away from Rey. It could be that Rey is an actual jedi though maybe not completed with her training and Finn just a force sensitive who starts on the path towards the end of this movie.

I'm guessing that at the beginning of the movie, Rey is already trained as a Jedi, and Finn eventually becomes a Jedi in training once it is realized that he is force sensitive. My guess is that Rey has been living/training with her uncle for a while now, and he is the one with the ugly mask holding Vader's helmet. Eventually, her and Uncle LUke cross paths with Finn the storm trooper.

JredTheRed
JredTheRed - 9/18/2015, 4:58 PM
yea, Kylo is not a sith. also, if rey's stick thing is a lightsaber...what if it actually separated in the middle to become two dual blade lightsabers?!?!?
Macksimus
Macksimus - 9/18/2015, 5:03 PM
I think the Knights of Ren/sith eventually sense the "awakening" of the light side of the force and begin to track down Rey and Luke, who have been in hiding. Finn was probably part of the strike force that was sent to Jakku to find Rey and Luke, but he gets lost or something and meets and befriends them.
GhostDog
GhostDog - 9/18/2015, 5:04 PM
@Macksimus why does that sound so plausible and just dead on?? I HOPE your theory is right

Macksimus
Macksimus - 9/18/2015, 5:09 PM
...then I'm guessing that Rey and Luke contact Han and Chewy and ask them to pick them up and help them escape from Jakku away from the New Order forces who are hunting them down.

@Macksimus

That's more or less my thoughts as well. The title, "force awakens" is a reference to Finn discovering them, which leads him to learn how to use them, with Rey as sort of a big sister figure for him throughout the film, and Luke's speech at the beginning of the second trailer was him explaining the force to Finn.

"The mission to take down the First Order is underway! After invading the Starkiller Base, one member of the Resistance has split from her group and found herself in a massive room full of First Order soldiers. Completely surrounded by Stormtroopers with blasters and Knights of Ren with lightsabers, she seems to be totally outnumbered. Unfortunately for her enemies, though, they’ve made a big mistake: it’s not about the strength of the weapon, but the strength of the warrior that wields it."

I know everyone wants her to be Jaina Solo, but it makes more sense that she's either Luke's daughter. This would make sense to the trailer with Mark's voice over: " ...My father had it, my sister has it, I have it,....and you have it..."

Also, isn't she on the same planet as he is?

That or she's his apprentice.

As for the Knights of Ren....what about that pic of Adam Driver as Kylo Ren dressed as an X-wing pilot?

Rey's staff is not a lightsaber.

Luke doesn't appear until the very end of the film when Rey and Chewie travel to his refuge (Skellig) to return his saber.

I think if Finn and/or Rey are Jedi, Poe will likely play a Han type in this new trifecta.

That shot of Finn holding the lightsaber makes it seem like that even though very confident with the lightsaber, Finn is still relatively new to it, so I could believe Kylo incapacitated Rey, so Finn picked up the lightsaber and protected her.

IDK, interested to see what happens.

@wookiefit76 - "As for the Knights of Ren....what about that pic of Adam Driver as Kylo Ren dressed as an X-wing pilot?"

My guess is both Kylo & Finn switch sides. Maybe while Kylo is on a mission with the Rebels his X-Wing is shot down and he's left for dead. The Knights of Ren find him and save his life by "rebuilding him." Maybe like Anakin, Kylo's body is severely burned, suffered internal damage and lost parts or entire limbs. Like Anakin, after his surgery he's more machine(and prosthetics) than man. What motivates & drives Kylo during the process is being told stories of Anakin/Vader surviving similar circumstances and going to achieve to "great" things/power. Of course, these motivational stories, soon make Kylo obsessed with Vader. Which is why he models his mask after Vader's. It also fits with the theory that Kylo is collecting Vader relics to clone Vader, some how resurrect Vader or some how harness Vader's power of the force.

Who knows though, just one man's guesses. hahaha.

Rey is the true Jedi,Finn is just using it like Han did on Hoth in The Empire Strikes back but instead of cutting open a Tauntaun he is going to attempt to take down Kylo Ren.
