In the video above, Ewan McGregor talks in detail about reprising the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and while he doesn't weigh in on the possibility of reprising the role in live-action, it appears as if the actor was very happy to be asked back by J.J. Abrams. "I’d been waiting for the call to come for two years," he says. "I thought maybe they’ve lost my agent’s phone number. Then I got a call from JJ just shortly before the film was released. He asked me to come in and said, ‘I’d love you to be a part of it.'" For details on what his role consisted of and how Alec Gunness factored into things, be sure to watch the video above. Which other cameos did you notice?

Starring original cast members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker and franchise newcomers, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong’o and Max von Sydow, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is now playing worldwide. Please Disney, do an Obi-Wan film. Watch Kurosawa's Yojimbo, then base an Obi-Wan film on that. Have all new characters. We don't need Darth Maul. That arc is ended in Clone Wars.

@LEVITIKUZ - Would be great to adapt that Obi/Anakin story that is ongoing in the books right now.

@newmutantsRETURNS - No. No more films of Star Wars with kids in them. Kids in movies suck 90% of the time. In the OT there was no kids. In Phantom Menace there was a kid who had kid friends that sucked. In AOTC there was more kids that talked. In ROTS one kid talked and then he and all the kids died. Star Wars films are better when there are lack of kids or they die.

But I am loving Soule's Obi/Anakin story 👍

@LEVITIKUZ - Holy shit, you actually just made me interested in the prospect of having an Obi-Wan spinoff. Pitch that to Kathleen Kennedy. Yojimbo is awesome
