HEROES' Greg Grunberg Joins STAR WARS: EPISODE VII

Long-time J.J. Abrams friend and collaborator Greg Grunberg (officer Matt Parkman in the Heroes tv series) has announced via Twitter that he will have a role in the director's currently shooting Star Wars flick -- though he won't reveal any more.

Greg Grunberg (who can currently be seen on Showtime's Masters Of Sex) is a childhood friend of J.J. Abrams, and actually appeared in the director's first home movies back in the '70s. Since then he's popped up in most of Abrams' projects, albeit usually in pretty small roles -- his largest was arguably playing the doomed airline pilot from Lost. Now the actor has responded to a fan's query by revealing that yes, he will also play a part in Star Wars: Episode VII.

Given the Abrams/Grunberg history it's not likely to be a very big role, but I guess that remains to be seen. Star Wars: Episode VII stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, David Oyelowow, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o, Gwendoline Christie, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker. The movie hist theatres December 18, 2015.

The Heroes cast are getting more work since they announced they're doing another season, guess they desperately don't wanna be a part of it and are taking these roles purely to say to NBC "I'm busy".

The futuristic episodes of Heroes with Peter were spectacular. Writers strike really hit the series hard.

Yeah actors take roles in the most popular movie franchise of all time just so they can pass on a paid network television show.....

Would've been pretty cool if we started to get official costumes in the show as well.

I liked this guy on heroes, He never got to his full potential. His dad (on the show) was a beast.

He is one of my favorite characters on Alias back in the 90s and I really like him in Heroes (I've only watched the 1st season). Good actor. Can't wait to see him in the new Star Wars.

He is a great actor. For some reason, I always mistake him for starring on Party of Five.
