J.J. Abrams Believes That John Williams Will Return To Score STAR WARS: EPISODE VII

When asked if he would reunite with regular composer Michael Giacchino for the highly anticipated sequel, Star Wars: Episode VII director J.J. Abrams sounds rather certain that original composer John Williams will return to score.

Ever since J.J. Abrams signed on to direct 2015's Star Wars: Episode VII for Disney and Lucasfilm earlier this year, it has been widely speculated that he would hire frequent composer Michael Giacchino (Star Trek Into Darkness, Super 8) for the highly anticipated sequel. Giacchino himself said that he would prefer to see John Williams, who scored the original Star Wars films, to return for the next installment in the space saga. At a recent press conference for Star Trek Into Darkness in Berlin, Abrams is asked about the possibility of Giacchino also moving from Star Trek to Star Wars, and he had this to say about that and his Into Darkness score. "Michael Giacchino is an incredible composer, who I was lucky enough to begin working with on Alias. ... He's truly one of the most influential members of our crew, and I think this score, he really outdid himself. Again, for Star Wars, it's very early days, but I believe that, going forward, John Williams will be doing that film, because he was there long before I was." You can watch the rest of the press conference with Abrams and the cast of Star Trek Into Darkness below. Who do you think should score Star Wars: Episode VII?
