Oscar Isaac was just one of many names to be announced as part of the Star Wars Episode 7 cast which will also feature Andy Serkis and returning stars Mark hamill and Harrison Ford.

Digital Spy recently caught up with the actor where he talks about his childhood love for the franchise and how long he new he was cast before the reveal. "There was about a month where I already knew that I'd been cast, before the announcement, so it was tough to keep it under wraps," revealed the actor, "But you know, secrets can be fun."

Isaac also talked about being a life long fan stating: "I was a huge Star Wars fan growing up - my family collects the toys, and we had Star Wars parties where everyone would dress up as their favourite character. "I came as a Gonk droid, but that was less about imagination and more about laziness, like, 'Damnit, I forgot to get a costume, just give me a cardboard box and I'll paint it grey!'"

The Robin Hood actor confirmed that production is due to begin filming at the end of the month and praised JJ Abrams take on the iconic movie series:  "JJ and I have just been talking a lot about the character - his enthusiasm and his collaborative nature are so refreshing in a movie of this size."

Could Isaac be playing a relative of an original trilogy character? Will he be on the light or darkside? Sound off your thoughts below!
