Since Star Wars: TFA has come out it has blown most of our minds and shattered several Box Office records, it also left us with more questions than the final season of Lost... but in a good way! The one question that is causing the most discussion is, who is Rey's Family? With most either saying Luke Skywalker is her father or Obi-Wan Kenobi is her grandfather... I ask why not BOTH?
Before episode IV
Yes why not the Daughter of Luke and Granddaughter of Kenobi? What if, like many have speculated Obi-Wan Kenobi did find love while in exile? Perhaps traveling off Tatoine to help the Rebel Alliance and fathering a daughter about 5 years older than Luke. Which he either had limited contact with due to the fact that he was Luke's protector/in exile, or which he had no knowledge of. Now there will be a plethora of people saying but what about the Jedi vow of celibacy? I think due to the fact that the Jedi order is all but gone Obi-Wan gets a Hall Pass. Also this sets up for a Kenobi movie starring Ewan!!
After episode VI
With the Legend of the last Jedi, Luke Skywalker, spreading through the galaxy a powerful Force sensitive Kenobi Jnr searches for him to train her and restart the Jedi Order. Luke discovers her heritage and agrees to her request. They travel the Galaxy for years searching for force sensitives to join the New Order as Kenobi becomes a Jedi, like her father before her. Soon they find themselves in love and eventually have a child, a daughter, Rey.
So where is Rey’s mother???
Well since the Star Wars universe loves to repeat itself here is my theory…
Before episode VII
With the appearance/reappearance of Snoke (Plegeuis), Luke and Kenobi Jnr get wind of his plan and try to stop him, however he has already corrupted one of their young apprentices Ben Solo. Who turns on them and with the help of the ‘Knights of Ren’ decimates the new order. In an attempt to save Rey, Kenobi Jnr faces the ‘Knights of Ren’ but is overpowered and struck down. Luke Flees with Rey, believing his love to be dead, he hides his daughter on Jakku with Lor San Tekka there to keep her alive, while he goes into exile.
After episode VII
As we know Rey has found Luke now at the end of TFA, Luke will tell her he is her father and what happened to send them into exile. Now with all this talk of a new female villain being cast, is it possible that she will be Rey’s mother and one of the Knights of Ren? Brought to Snoke by Kylo, corrupted and turned to the dark side… forcing Rey to a similar fate of her father and having to face her mother?
Like I said Star Wars universe likes to repeat itself…
