SPOILER ALERT! Plot Of Gareth Edwards' STAR WARS Spinoff Sounds A Lot Like SUICIDE SQUAD

According to a new report, the plot of the first Star Wars spinoff will put the spotlight on a group of bounty hunters hired by the Rebel Alliance to steal the plans for the first Death Star! Are we going to see Boba Fett and how does this connect to The Force Awakens?

SlashFilm are usually reliable when it comes to scoops (they got that news about the release of the trailer debut for The Force Awakens right), so don't be afraid to start getting excited about Godzilla director Gareth Edwards' 2016 Star Wars spinoff. According to the site, it's going to focus on a group of bounty hunters hired by the Rebel Alliance to steal the plans of the first Death Star. That obviously means the movie will be set before A New Hope, but this is a pivotal moment in Star Wars history as it kicked off the events of the Original Trilogy. In terms of the approach to the movie, the site reveals that we should, "think the Seven Samurai or Suicide Squad meets Ocean’s Eleven in the world of Star Wars." They have some other interesting details too though, including the fact that the Millennium Falcon is somehow involved, but that Han Solo is NOT in the film. Will we meet a younger Lando? They don't know, but have heard that the main character in this spinoff will first be introduced in The Force Awakens, meaning that they'll obviously be much older in that film. Max von Syndow perhaps? Again, they don't have specifics, but this is very interesting and could even lead to some of the Star Wars Rebels characters making their live-action debuts...

@Doopid you mean ripping off Sony because they announced Sinister Six first? But Suicide Squad was inspired by Dirty Dozen.

Who is Gareth Edwards? Is he that guys from that Tron sequel that everyone likes for some reason?

@mrcool210 yes. They don't normally break scoops (just like HitFix), so when they drop one it's more than likely credible

@Doopie "many bothans died" with the second death star plans, but I initially thought the exact same thing.

So, are we gonna be treated to seeing dumb humans stumbling around, and we only see the Bounty Hunters fighting in the background and on monitors? After viewing Godzilla a couple more times, I'm not sure if this guy is even a genre fan anymore.

[frick] off Disney. The Star Wars spinoffs are already pointless and this just sounds stupid.

I hope they bring back Cad Bane(The Clone Wars) for this movie!

@Reasonnn Suicide Squad has been in development since before 2012. Sinister Six was just the result of Sony announcing shit before they knew what they had.

This could actually explain how the Rebels got the plans and give us a great story about bounty hunters. I'm in

Sinister Six already seem a bust.
Suicide Squad has allot of potential but it's WB were talking about thier self-conscience about thier own properties that they'll wrap it up in double condom's before getting to work.
Star Wars Bounty Hunters just on the name alone Star Wars they'll make money off of it no matter if it's good or bad, but hopefully good.

It's probably going to be great though. I just dobt want the "Villain Team-Up" to be a trend.

I thought it was gonna be about a giant monster that attacks the Rebels for nine minutes.

Prequels are always terrible ideas.

I'd rather it be a film about Boba Fett escaping the Sarlacc pit and becoming a badass again.

@Sipprelle

Justin Marks was hired for Suicide Squad in 2009. Five years later he is working with David Ayer.

@Sipprelle I know, just pulling the technicality card. Suicide Squad was in production before 2012? More like in development hell?
