STAR WARS: Check Out This Incredible 'Sideshow Collectibles' DARTH VADER Statue

'Sideshow Collectibles' has unveiled their Mythos line of statues, and the Darth Vader one may just be the coolest you'll ever see! It depicts the unmasked Sith Lord returning to his symbolic birthplace on Mustafar. Hit the jump to check it out!

For our Star Wars Mythos version of Darth Vader we chose a moment in time between the trilogies, where he has returned to his symbolic birthplace on Mustafar for a moment of deep reflection on his choices. He is caught in a pose reminiscent of Shakespearean introspect, Hamlet-esque with an ‘alas poor Yorick’ view of his helmet. Somewhere deep inside the man who was once Anakin Skywalker a deep torment foments as he contemplates the partial machine he has become. Whether his thoughts waver toward this new reality being a tragedy or a triumph is a matter left up to the viewers’ imagination.

Pretty amazing, eh? Check out more statues in the "Mythos" line by clicking on the link below.

Darth Vader was ruined beyond repair in the Prequels and its even affected his depiction in video games as a nobody badguy who gets beaten and captured.

And dont blame Hayden Christensen. Its not like he went to Lucas and said I want Anakin to whine and cry all the freaking time and could you have Vader scream "NOOOOO!" In Episode 6.
Seriously, Vader lost his Mojo!

"Hayden Christensen was so hot before though :("

LOL now he's even "hotter" cuz of the lava, I'll always remember one of his fangirls commenting on that Star Wars III clip where Anakin gets burned to a charred piece of meat

Since his d*ck got burned off, he's the most bada*s person without a d*ck. Michael Rodriguez is at number two.

It looks more like Sebastian Shaw then Hayden Christensen which is what the REAL Darth Vader- The Original Theatrical Edition Darth Vader- should look like.

That is incredible!

@1geekygurl I think he gets a lot of hate for no reason IMO. It really isn't Hayden Christensen's fault. He's not the one writing the scripts.

Would any other actor in the role have really made a difference? I will say, I didn't like it when George Lucas took out the original actor that played Darth Vader, and super imposed Hayden in his place. That was so disrespectful! You don't do stuff like that.

@Triptheorist Ugh... I'm not surprised at all.

Some observations, apart from Josh this time, though his wowie-zowie opening was quite the amazing, excellent, 5-star zinger that we've all come to expect!

A. So, on Mustafar, Vader wouldn't die by taking his mask off and contemplating it, while inhaling the sulfurous fumes?
(Luke: "but you'll die!")

B. Nice, well defined lips for a burn victim.

C. Hamlet never wore Yorick's head. Nice try at making a meaningless literary allusion.

D. You'd think if Vader was experiencing this much "foment[ing]" torment BETWEEN the trilogies, he might have saved the universe from the punishment he inflicted on it in the Original Trilogy.

E. You'd never know he was on Mustafar except for the nice promotional picture in the background, separate from the statue itself. Also, did he get in a fight on the way there? Really? Another one? Somehow the lightsaber battles in the OT just don't seem as special.

F. What is the added incentive of the figure being sold with two nearly identical interchangeable faces (one frowning, the other, not quite frowning)?

That doesn't look like Sebastian Shaw, or Hayden Christensen, or David Prowse, or even James Earl Jones.

But I like the look of the statue. That's what Anakin should've looked like in Return of the Jedi.

This Mythos line is by far some of the best work Sideshow has done in recent years. I think there are 5 of these thus far. All incredible. Wish I had the extra money for these.
