We have some potentially massive news (if accurate, that is) for Star Wars fans here, as Mara Jade Skywalker may finally be set to make her live-action debut in an upcoming movie.
Though we have very little to go on, reliable scooper @MyTimeToShineHello is claiming that Jade is going to appear in the film that's currently being developed by Marvel Studios' head Kevin Feige.
We first heard that Feige was working on a mysterious Star Wars project almost two years ago, but when there was no mention of it at Celebration and Kathleen Kennedy downplayed his involvement, it was assumed that it had been shelved or possibly even scrapped completely.
Apparently not!
Jade was a popular Expanded Universe character, who started out as the Emperor's personal assassin before meeting, gaining respect for, and ultimately marrying Luke Skywalker.
The established canon doesn't really allow much room for her to be utilized in exactly the same way (pretty sure Luke would have mentioned having a wife at some point), but there are always other options when it comes to how Jade is introduced.
What do you guys make of this rumor? Do you think we will see Mara Jade in the Galaxy Far, Far Away at some point.
