Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is an extremely divisive movie, but the vast majority of fans loved Babu Frik. Introduced as a droidsmith capable of unlocking C-3PO's ability to translate Sith writing, Steven Spielberg was such a fan that he actually insisted the creature return during the movie's final battle alongside Zorii Bliss.

Now, we have some concept art from the Skywalker Saga finale which first spotlights an unbelievably adorable version of the character before things take a gross turn with a bug-like creature.

We have no idea how old Babu is, but it's certainly possible he could return down the line.

After all, the Mandalorian could cross paths with him if we were to visit Kijimi in a future season, while he could even pop up in something like Cassian Andor as an unexpected ally. Then again, it might be best to leave him as a one and done rather than water him down too much.
