THE CLONE WARS: Darth Maul VS Obi-Wan Round 2!

Check out a video clip of Obi-Wan Kenobi's rematch with the evil Sith warrior he thought he had put down for good at the end of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace..

As any true Star Wars fan knows, "The Phantom Menace" was awful. But that last three way lightsaber duel between Darth Maul, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon Jin was pretty damn cool. At the end of it, Maul kills Qui-Gon and Kenobi eviscerates Maul in return. But in the Clone Wars animated series Maul was resurrected and in this Friday's season finale entitled "Revenge", he comes looking for just that. Check out a clip of their rematch courtesy of EW.

Ah, if only we could have seen something like this up on the big screen in live action. Still, we did get an old git and an asthmatic droid..lizard..thing as new villains instead! Be sure to tune in Friday to see how that tussle turns out.

It was only a matter of time. I knew they were going to do this, and I've only ever seen one episode of the entire show.

The lightsaber duels in the prequels were a little too choreographed my liking. Sure they were a blast to watch, but I never felt any imminent doom for either character. It just looked like they were dancing with lightsabers.

the first clone wars cartoon series before the last film was bad ass. Have not seen this new one, but from the clips I can see the animation looks like shit and Darth Maul's torso/legs look ridiculous.

I have an idea for Lucas, why don't you try making stuff for people over 10

theomegasanction@. Oh really is that your expert opinion. Show me something with better animation on television. You can hate lucas and the plot and the characters these elements are arguable, but the cg the sound design and animation are unarguably top quality, this is not an opinion but a fact.

I remember reading that maul would comeback with cybernetic legs years ago, when I told starwars geeks about it they would laugh in my face, but whose laughing now.....

So stoked about this, darth maul is a pretty convincing villain. Its probably because he looks like satan before photoshop.

This is the dumbest idea Lucas and co. has come up with. Should have made a Force Unleashed animated series/movie or focused on Luke... or Boba Fett. How many stories can be told in this series especially since the Clone Wars wasn't really that long? Two years maybe three max. Seriously. Should have made more movies.

@PeterParker

I totally agree man, my biggest gripe with the Clone Wars show is that they countlessly put the major characters in life threatening situations in which we all know for a 100% fact that they will survive.

Watching Anakin or Obi Wan in "danger" in the show doesn't create drama, it gets old if you ask me

GrayFox1025 @ I've never watched an episode, but from what images I've seen it looks like this show is for children; not older fan boys.

I would imagine Darth Maul would be pretty pissed. After all, Obi-Wan made him feel like half a man. *Ba-dum Tsh*

Obi-Wan is going to wipe the floor with Darth Maul.

@yossarian

Spoiler Alert!

I'm going commando! ;P

Dontcha hate it when you cut your enemy in half and still have to fight him again? Reminds me of a video game boss lol.

@Mark "RorMachine" Cassidy Grievous didn't have asthma, in the first clone wars animation you get to see him kidnap palpatine. Right before they leave the planet Mace Windu smashes his chest with the force thus making it difficult to breathe.
But I agree Darth Maul could've been a great evil character throughout Episodes 1-3. They could've even maimed him a bit turning him into something similar to Vader.

darth maul should have had as much screen time in the phantom menace as darth vader did in a new hope and this fight should have happend in episode 2 episode 1 should have been the clone war from the start have the race of beings like boba fett fighting the jedi and the storm troppers anakin should have been older from the start no jar jar no trade federation shit count dooku darth maul and then that woman sith in episode 3 god i could go on all day just reboot the bloody prequels.

LAME. Lucas is just now realizing that he shoulda kept Darth Maul through episodes I-III, so he makes up some random excuse to bring him back. He could have had anakin, obiwan, and yoda vs darth maul in episode 2, and then had anakin decap maul instead of fat stupid dooku in episode 3 and it would have been friggin EPIC. Instead, we get this. Also, apparently maul has become quite the chatterbox since he's been sliced in half. He didnt say crap in episode 1 now he wont shut up.

Star Wars The Clone Wars simply gets better and better. I really enjoyed the episode 'Brothers'. It reminded was basically a cross between Lord of the Rings and Star Wars Episode V.

Spider Maul = Shelob. Morley the Anacondan = Gollum.

Eh, they lost me when they didn't have cute-as-a-button Shaak Ti and that Hammer Head guy beating the ever-loving crap out of everything that moves. The Samurai Jack cartoon series was awesome.

Dude the season 4 finale was awesome!
Id have to say for those who bash the show and never seen it, check it out. I was skeptical at first and refused to watch the Clone War animated movie. But after i saw Clone Troopers getting shot in the head i realized that the show is geared said its for the 10+ crowd but still has stuff for fans that are 20+ like me. There a lot of subtle dark undertone in the show. And the fact you get to see what happens in the years leading up to episode 3 it makes Anikian fall so much greater. Yes there are a few episodes with Jar Jar i think like 3 out of 4 seasons! im still hoping he will be killed but hes in episode 3 sadly =(
Yes a live action Maul would have been great in movies, but Lucas would have found a way to mess that up. At least in this version he is directed by people who care bout the mythos
