Turns Out Daniel Craig WAS In STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS After All

Remember the rumor doing the rounds a while back that claimed Daniel Craig was set to cameo as a Stormtrooper in Star Wars: The Force Awakens? Well, though the SPECTRE actor vehemently denied it at the time, it seems he was being less that truthful! SPOILERS ahead.

So it turns out Daniel Craig was telling porkies. After being outed by Simon Pegg for making a Stormtrooper cameo in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the James Bond star shot down the rumor as complete nonsense. "Why would I ever bother doing something like that?” Craig asked EW at the time. “F—ing hell! Pffft. Play an extra in another movie.” Now, the same outlet has confirmed that the actor did indeed slip into the Stormtrooper uniform and appeared in a brief scene - even delivering a few lines!

But this is where things get a bit SPOILERY, so if you haven't seen the movie yet you're advised not to read on.

Okay? Okay.

So there's a scene in the film after Rey (Daisy Ridley) is captured by the First Order and is strapped to a chair for interrogation. At this point she's realized she is Force-sensitive, and tries to make one of the Stormtroopers guarding her set her free. After a couple of attempts she manages it, but not before said Stormtrooper threatens to "tighten those restraints, scavenger scum." Yeah... that was Daniel Craig apparently!

I didn't recognize his voice because obviously I wasn't listening out for it, but I most definitely will be when I see Star Wars: The Force Awakens again tomorrow. Did any of you guys cop it?

Simon Pegg is the big alien on Jakku that's employing Rey. I think it is also him (his arm) in the flash-back scene.

The spoiler isn't that Craig is in the movie, that's just confirming a rumor! The spoilers are the details of his scene with Rey.

People like complaining too much. If someone who's seen the movie is surprised Daniel's in the movie, that's not a spoiler, it's a cameo.

That's funny! I knew the voice sounded familiar, but I couldn't place it. On the red carpet he said something like "I'd dress up like a storm trooper just to be in a Star Wars movie", but I didn't put it together until just now :o)

Posting in the title that Daniel Craig is in the movie when the production was clearly trying to keep it a secret is a spoiler!

This site has always been the worst for respecting people's choice to read spoilers.

Right, so now you know a famous actor appears in the movie for 4 seconds under a helmet, who you'd never have recognized or knew he was in it unless I just told you.

MOVIE RUINED!!

Gimme a break.

Stop whining, you over-sensitive asshats! While the scene description is a spoiler, Daniel Craig being in the movie is not. It has nothing to do with the plot and at no point is it actually even revealed that he, the actor and not some specific character, is under the helmet.
Saying Nathan Fillion is in Guardians of the Galaxy isn't a spoiler. Saying Bill Murray is in Zombieland, on the other hand, is a spoiler.

Excellent review. The movie was fun, nostalgic, but not over the top. The characters actually felt real too. 5/5

Thought it was great, but Snoke was a letdown. Dodgy design/CGI, especially given how well-done Maz was. Hoping they redesign him a bit when he shows up in the flesh. It would be cool if he's actually huge, but I imagine that was just the hologram bulking him up.

This movie did not live up to the hype. It lived off of the original characters. Pretty disappointed in this movie. Where there even any lightsabers in this movie lol
