October 30th, 2012. A day which will forever be remembered as the beginning of a new era for Star Wars. You can read more details about Disney's acquisition of LucasFilm by clicking HERE. In a conference call earlier today, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company Bob Iger confirmed that there are plans to release new Star Wars movies every other year (the first is obviously set to be released in 2015), with a story treatment for episodes 7, 8 and 9 part of the deal. The rights to Indiana Jones were also included, but there's currently no plans to move ahead with that at the current time. Star Wars however looks set to also find a new home on Disney XD and in various video games, though not necessarily on consoles. Below, George Lucas, Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy talk more about the future of one of the most beloved franchises of all-time.
