Has The Title Of STAR WARS EPISODE VIII Finally Been Revealed?

As far as we know, a teaser for Star Wars Episode VIII will NOT be attached to Rogue One, but a trademark filing by Lucasfilm in Europe today may very well reveal the upcoming movie's title...

Chances are that we won't get any Star Wars Episode VIII details until after the spotlight has been taken off Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but AVS Forum has come across a very interesting trademark filing which may very well reveal the movie's title. Chances are that Disney and Lucasfilm are a little more careful than this, but it was submitted today to European Union Intellectual Property Office and covers a lot of different items. In fact, that list is over 2000 words and covers everything from toys to clothing.

So, what is the title they've registered? Star Wars: Forces of Destiny. It's a title which certainly fits after The Force Awakens, and with Rogue One right around the corner, the timing is definitely interesting.

For now, it's obviously best to take this with a pinch of salt, but what do you guys think about this title? Directed by Rian Johnson, Star Wars Episode VIII stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran. The movie is set to be released on December 15th, 2017.

It's too generic sounding. It needs to have the immediacy of "Empire Strikes Back" or "Attack of the Clones"

@Objectivelybiased - Are you like the biggest bitch on this website? Past BatmanHeisenberg of course.

@Yaf - Seeing that I am not pushing an agenda, posting things in the wrong places, posting troll articles, insisting on some kind of competition over something that is SUBJECTIVE such as Marvel or D.C, creating editorials about the same content everyone else has said, and contribute opinions that I elaborate on and argue with evidence ...no, I am not the biggest bitch here.

I wouldn't say the same about the person who is willing to liberally drop a blind insult ...without any other sort of argument. Even then, I would say you were immature and probably not very intelligent that you have to break down your distaste to vulgar language rather than stooping down to your level.

Force in the title again? That would be lame sauce.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - Agreed. Sounds more like a video game title to me. Could even be a novel for all we know, even though they usually have one word, like "Payback" or "Revenge" or "Reprisal" or "Retribution" or "Vengeance". All very different :)

These are some rather generic titles they're putting out for the new trilogy. What's next? Excessive Use of Force?

Good title, has a natural flow. Makes sense thematically, but they may not want to overplay the Force angle in the titles.

"I take it you haven't seen Forces of Nature?"
