Our first look at Shazam! arrived unexpectedly during last year's Comic-Con and while we all expected/hoped that another would be attached to Aquaman, it's now been said that the second trailer will be with us on January 19th (or at least sometime this month).

For now, though, we have a lengthy trailer description which reveals a lot more about what's to come in the DC Comics adaptation which looks set to put the
DCEU on a more Marvel-lous path than ever before. It sounds like the focus will definitely be put on the action in this sneak peek but there are plenty of intriguing plot details as well.

With any luck, we'll have the actual trailer for you shortly, but this is definitely a must-read!

So, to take a look at this description, all you guys have to do is click on the "View List" button.

Apparently, the trailer kicks off with Billy Batson eating dinner with his foster family when Cooper Andrews' Victor Vazquez (his foster father) points out that a costumed superhero has appeared in Philadelphia. A montage of clips from the first trailer is then shown before we get to the new stuff.

Returning to dinner, young Darla Dudley and Pedro Pena make fun of Shazam's costume (much to Billy's disgust) before we head to the Wizard's lair and see Billy acquiring his newfound abilities.

Billy and Freddy are then shown brainstorming hero names before we see Shazam attempt to fly through the clouds. Unfortunately, he quickly begins to fall but after channelling a certain Man of Steel, he manages to catch himself before crashing into the ground below and comes to the realisation that, yes, he can indeed fly now!

Mark Strong's Dr. Sivana then makes an appearance and a battle between the villain and Shazam is show in mid-air before the action cuts to a kid playing with Batman and Superman action figures. The two collide at the same time the toys do and this child is actually humming the classic Superman theme while all of this is happening.

Shazam and Freddy are then shown at a real estate office where they are trying to find a "lair." While castles are preferable, they'd also like something overlooking water. The trailer then wraps up with Billy's fellow foster kids confronting him about being a superhero before more action scenes are shown of him in action.

Before the logo hits, Sivana asks Shazam how old he is and Billy replies, "Basically 15." It's then that we get the money shot of the hero jumping off a building as he shouts "Shazam!" and transforms into his alter-ego.

As for the stinger, it kicks off with Sivana throwing Shazam into a toy store. The hero throws a Batman toy at the villain (which misses) before ending up on a large scale piano in a pretty obvious homage to Big

@Whaley87 - I really hope this movie is good! I’m getting some 1990’s superheroes movie vibes though.

@WakandanQueen -

They said the age of heroes would never come again.

Just needed a soft-reboot of the universe tone to make it happen.
Thank god Snyder is off of it.

@Humperdink - Snyder can really do the action thing, but it's almost as if he never read a comic book in his life.

Anyone hear about him fighting the 7 deadly sins? The RPK dude on twitter has seen the trailer and took screenshots of it and posted the pics, but was asked to take them down. It was of Wrath's hands grabbing Shazam from behind.

Curious to see if the new trailer takes away my feeling that they probably should have switched the actors for Billy and Freddy.

@Kyos - I think the movie will be pretty darn good but I didn’t get the feeling that Shazam was Billy’s mind in a superheroes body in the first trailer. They felt like two different people.

@Bokis - That describes exactly how I felt about it. You had the enthusiastic, curious kid in the grown man's body, and a somewhat moody, worldly-wise teenager, and I had problems fitting the two together.

YOUNG JUSTICE OUTSIDERS got its first reviews on RT (some people have had access to the first 3 episodes). Small sample still, but 100% fresh with 6 reviews, and yesterday audience score was 100% with 52 user ratings. It's now 93% with 55 user ratings.

Trailer sounds a bit oddly cut but it might not be the best description of it. The money shot and the fight between Sivana and Shazam sounds nice.

OFF-TOPIC: I can't believe Aquaman is actually going to make a billion dollars. What the [frick] man?! I'm legit happy as shit but shocked as [frick]. The first DCEU to make a billion dollars is Aquaman.

This better be better than that the '90s version with Sinbad as the Wizard Shazam.

Between this, Aquaman and what we're hearing about WW84, I feel like the DCEU's course correction has them squarely focused on 10 year olds. There were moments in Aquaman that felt straight out of Spy Kids and that only got more and more prevalent as the movie went on. I don't know if making these more into kids movies is inherently bad, but if the scripts are going to keep being as bad as a bad kids movie then they'll have somehow managed to churn out consistently bad films on both ends of the tonal spectrum

Don't ask me how Birds of Prey fits into this equation as I suspect that exists largely because of how bankable they feel Robbies Harley is, regardless of how well it does or doesn't get with where they're taking the universe as a whole
