Since Captain Marvel star Brie Larson said that she would like to make the movie's press tour more inclusive, the Oscar winner has been bombarded by threats, abuse, and a campaign to tank the movie's Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Bizarrely, some fans have even tried to pit Captain Marvel against Shazam! due to the fact they've both held the "Captain Marvel" moniker, and it appears as if Zachary Levi has had quite enough of it. During a recent Q&A on social media, the actor condemned the "inflammatory, defamatory and completely fictitious" posts which have been doing the rounds.
Adding that they're "not helping anyone or anything," he noted that there's no competition between the movies and that "anyone out there who’s holding onto some bone like they need to pick a side and pick a fight is sorely mistaken."
In fairness, it doesn't appear to be DC fanboys who are responsible for this negativity; instead, it's mostly men who believe Larson is a sexist/racist and doesn't want them to see the movie!
