Producer Chris Miller Teases Big Announcement For The Upcoming Animated SPIDER-MAN Movie

Chris Miller has taken to social media to tease an announcement coming in two days related to Spider-Man. Could it involve Sony's upcoming animated film featuring Miles Morales as the main character?

Earlier this year, Sony officially announced that fan-favorite Marvel Comics character Miles Morales would be heading to the big screen in a new animated Spider-Man film. Written by Phil Lord and executive produced by Lord and Chris Miller, the animated Spider-Man movie is due to open December 21, 2018; but, we could be getting some sort of news, maybe even a first look at the highly anticipated film, soon.

Miller has taken to his Twitter account and posted an image teasing that some sort of Spider-Man announcement or reveal will be coming in just two days.

Unfortunately, no other details were shared so what will be revealed on Saturday, December 9 remains a mystery. Time to speculate!

Shameik Moore, who starred in Netflix's The Get Down, will voice the web-slinging Miles Morales, while Liev Schrieber (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) will provide the voice of the villain, who is still being kept under wraps.

The animated Spider-Man movie is due to open December 21, 2018.

Keep it animated that’s fine.... some people want him in a live movie and we just got the Peter Parker we’ve always wanted so it’s too soon for miles.

I’ve been wondering lately if maybe we will see Miles sooner rather than later in the MCU. At first I thought it was extremely unlikely but after the tease of him in Homecoming, the knowledge that Sony is still trying to push out their Spiderverse movies, and the potential for Spider-Man dying in Infinity War (I think he will but will be brought back through time travel in Avengers 4) make me wonder if Marvel Studios will puke a bait and switch and head in the Miles Morales route if they can’t control Sony enough. It’s definitely unlikely but we know how Fiege is about control of properties that’s why the TV stuff is left by the wayside

I'm very curious about this film. I've heard the animation is really really good on it.

So this is 100% defiantly unrelated to the MCU, right?

I really wish they'd stop releasing all these superfluous CBMs. Good or not, they'll only bring on superhero fatigue even faster. Let's keep things to the MCU, and maaaaaaaybe the DCEU if those movies can stop sucking ass.

I heard from somewhere, can't honestly remember at this point that the animation being used in this movie is going to be amazing. This is like 3rd hand knowledge so take it with a massive grain of salt but I'm absolutely pumped for this. It's better than hearing the animation is sh*t at least.

Hell no to this cartoon bullshit. Disney should be the only studio allowed to make superhero movies.

@JohnnyTBP - I actually like Momoa in JL, I'm in the minority there. Looking at this photo (and I know they're changing Aquaman up) I dont necessarily recognize it as Aquaman Just looks like a pic of Jason Momoa.
