Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was one of 2018's most pleasant surprises. The computer-animated film received critical praise and was adored by moviegoers, while grossing over $375 million worldwide on just a production budget of $90 million.

The film's successful reception encouraged Sony to continue to explore the Spider-Verse. The studio has already confirmed plans for a sequel as well as a spin-off film, Spider-Women, which will be focused on three generations of female Spider-related characters. Additionally, Into the Spider-Verse writers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller also recently signed a five0year deal with Sony Pictures Television to created animated Marvel television series, with one of the possibilities being a series based on Into the Spider-Verse.

It's possible that we could find out more about one of these projects in the near future, if not more of them. The official Into the Spider-Verse Instagram accounted posted a very cryptic teaser hinting that "something's up" and that its "Spidey sense is tingling."

Both the Sony Pictures and Sony Animation Instagram accounts also responded with Spider emojis. It's unclear what is causing the Spidey sense to tingle, but it's very possible it could be new about the future of the animated franchise. Hopefully, we find out more soon!
