Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse swings into theaters later this year, but before then, the cast and crew of Sony Pictures' upcoming animated film will make a pit stop at New York Comic Con. According to an announcement today, an Into the Spider-Verse panel will be held on Saturday, October 6, at 11:30 a.m. in the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden.

The panel will feature writers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller along with the cast of the upcoming film as they offer audiences "an inside look at the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse - where more than one can wear the mask." Based on the tweet, it sounds as though cast members Shameik Moore (Miles Morales), Jake Johnson (Peter Parker), Hailee Steinfeld (Gwen Stacy) will also be present.

Into the Spider-Verse made quite a splash at San Diego Comic Con. Though Sony opted not to release a new trailer, fans were treated to new footage as well as additional details. We were also introduced to new variations of the web-slinger, including Spider-Man Noir (Nicholas Cage) and Spider-Ham (John Mulaney). Highlights from the SDCC panel, along with behind-the-scenes interviews with the cast and crew, can be viewed here.

The NYCC showing will likely build upon the excitement surrounding the animated film and fans could be treated to even more footage from the movie. It's possible we may be introduced to even more Spider-people. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse swings into theaters December 14.

Yes, it has nothing to do with Into the Void, but regarding Captain Marvel...

I think Rune Temte is playing Ultimos with a slight Asgardian twist (which is cool).

No sign of Colin Ford, which only serves to better my own personal theory that he will be playing Richard Rider.

@Lostcause - Wait, what? Really? Is that just in the comics or...?

@LORDbuckethead - Well on her Earth-65 she is only known as Spider-Woman. Since she is friends with Jessica Drew on Earth 616, She take the Moniker of Ghost Spider. The comic comes out next month. Spider-Gwen: A.K.A Ghost Spider #1. The movie doesn't come out until Dec. I would imagine they go with a quib of Spider-Gwen and she corrects them by stating her first and only name given...Ghost Spider. She has also been called White Widow, but that is like a Webhead or Wallcrawler nickname. Marvel is officially calling her Ghost Spider.I'm sure in Spider-Geddon arc she will let the other spiders know. I haven't missed any Spider stuff since 1984.

@Lostcause - Damn, that's pretty inventive if it is that way in the film. As you can tell, I'm not up-to-date on her stories. I'm not the best with newer characters and their origins.
