An international teaser for Kraven the Hunter leaked online earlier today, and Sony Pictures have now officially debuted an extended red-band trailer for its next Spider-Man adjacent Marvel movie.
In addition to the extra violence (Kraven even bites a guy's nose off and spits it at the camera at one point), this trailer features quite a bit more footage, as Sergei Kravinoff uses the skills his villainous father (Russell Crowe) taught him to take down criminals.
Oh, and he also has superhuman animal senses and abilities thanks to a lion attack when he was a teenager. The footage suggests that a drop of the animal's blood gives him powers, but we're assuming/hoping there's a little more to it.
Kraven does have some superhuman traits in the comics, but he gets them from a potion made from various jungle herbs (similar to Black Panther).
Check out the trailer - which also gives us a quick glimpse of Alessandro Nivola's Rhino transformation - along with a pretty cool poster which recreates a classic Kraven pose.
J.C. Chandor directs Kraven the Hunter, which is set to hit theaters on October 6, 2023. The movie also stars Ariana DeBose as Calypso, Christopher Abbot as The Foreigner, and Levi Miller and Fred Hechinger in undisclosed roles.
