I love Spider-Man. I have been the self proclaimed biggest Spider-Man fan on this site since the day I joined. Unlike a lot of people I actually enjoyed every single Spider-Man movie put out so far. I have certainly enjoyed some more than others, so let's rank them!

5. Spider-Man 3

Ranking-7.5

Yeah, I'm sure many of you saw this coming. Even though it certainly is my least favorite film I still enjoyed it. Yes I hated the fact they made Sandman Uncle Ben's killer and the fact it was just an accident. Yes I hated dancing emo Peter (though I did laugh which I guess was the intended response.) And yes I hated the fact my favorite villain of all time only had like ten minutes of screen time and the fact he was insanely miscast. However, I loved Harry's character arc, and I loved the midair battle between him and Peter. I think Raimi did a good job in this one making Peter and Harry feel like long time friends. This movie sure is a mixed bag though. For example I loved the end battle, but I hated the "wicked cool!" and "awesome!" kids thrown in. Raimi truely taught us the meaning of the word nepotism by having not only both brothers and both of his kids in the movie, but he included his nephew and let his brother write this movie. Every scene with a family member of his felt forced. Like he had to go out of his way to find a place in this movie to put all his family into. All that aside, I really did still enjoy this movie.  Harry has never been done better in film, cartoon, comics or otherwise.

4. Spider-Man

Ranking-8

Solid movie in every regard. The origin was done perfectly (too bad they had to screw it up in the third film.) Watching Peter go from an ackward boy to practially a man by the end of the film was great. Tobey was likable and watching him gain his powers was a joy. My two biggest complaints are the Green Goblin suit looked like a reused Power Rangers reject, and Spider-Man wasn't funny. Once you get past those two big problems you find a great origin story with a good plot, some heart, and a lot of fun action. And that end swing scene is still one of the better moments in any Spider-Man film to date. That's saying a lot.

3. The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Ranking-8.5

So I liked this movie! What? Come at me bro! I know a lot of people didn't enjoy this movie. I myself was disappointed but that doesn't mean I hated it. That means I was hoping for a 9 or better but ended up with an 8.5. Why an 8.5? I loved Andrew's Spider-Man. He was throwing quips left and right! He was taking the time to walk a kid home from school! Now that's the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man I grew up with! Gwen Stacy was perfect! The romance between her and Peter was flawless. The swing scenes in this Spidey flick are second to none.  And man o man, when Gwen died, I lost it. The death of Gwen Stacy was done so well in this movie, I could not be more pleased.

Now that all that is out of the way, the action scenes could have been better, Electro was underwhelming, Harry wasn't as well done as he was in the previous version by any stretch, some of the dialogue was painful and don't get me started on the air plane scene. And why the heck did they show us the final scene in the trailers! I WANT TO SEE SPIDEY FIGHT THE RHINO!

Well anyway, I did enjoy this movie.  Honest.

2. Spider-Man 2

Ranking-9

So you're probably asking yourself two questions right now. The first is probably why in the world I went with that image up there. The answer is simple. I've never seen it before and thought some of you guys might not either and you know, it looks flippin cool! The second question you're probably asking yourself is "I thought you said six films?" Well either that or "how is this movie not number 1?" Well the answer to both those questions is also a simple one. Because Spider-Man 2.1 is better.

1. Spider-Man 2.1/The Amazing Spider-Man

Rating-10

Yeah, so I cheated. This is my article, I can do what I want. I love both of these films equally. I really can't decide which one I enjoyed more. Spider-Man 2.1 has the best action not only out of any Spider-Man film but almost any film ever made. I mean come on...clock tower/train fight for the win! Doc Ock is brought to life perfectly. The movie had so much heart. I love the scene were Peter runs into the burning building to save the kid while his powers are all in flux. That's my Peter! Spider-Man 2.1 has great action, plenty of heart, a great villain, and with the extended scenes not only do we get more action, Mary Jane doesn't seem like such a tramp. The scene added of her shoe shopping I really think shows she was having second thoughts the entire time and her heart belonged to Peter the whole time. And the extended Harry/Peter scene at Aunt May's house felt much more natural. Everything added back into this version made it better.

And The Amazing Spider-Man was a perfect origin story. My favorite scenes in The Amazing Spider-Man aren't even the action scenes (which I loved.) My favorite scenes are character driven scenes which I think says a lot about the film. Like the scene with Peter in his bed room trying to listen to the last message Uncle Ben sent him on his phone. Or the scene with Peter and Ben in his bed room. You know what I'm talking about. The one where Peter tells Uncle Ben he's been a pretty great dad. I loved watching Peter become Spider-Man and the real world feel they went with this time. I just wish they kept that same real world feel in the second film. And the scene with Peter and Jack in the car may be my favorite superhero scene of all time. AND THAT END SWING SCENE! People in my theater stood up and cheered when we all saw that.

So there you go. Spider-Man 2.1 and The Amazing Spider-Man are my two top picks. How would you guys rank the six Spidey films we have so far? Seven if you include "The Chinese Web." HA! You know that tv show really wasn't that bad.

I actually agree with this order, but TASM is better than SP2.1

@Scorpion8125

SP1, 2/2.1, and 3 aren't even as coherent and competent as TASM. Also, almost ALL of the characters from Raimi's trilogy don't even make sense. Many exist simply as plot devices and nothing more. In TASM, Gwen ACTUALLY helps Peter and isn't something for him to save, May isn't SOLELY the fortune cookie aunt with tidbits or moral encouragement.

@Scorpion8125

I never said TASM was a good movie....lol, it's just better than the original trilogy in terms of storytelling. Yes it had a SHITTY villain, and yes the story got boring, but at least it knew how to tell a story better than its predecessors. HOW-[frick]ING-EVER, I enjoy the original Spider-Man 1 and 2.1 more than the third installment or the 2 reboots.

Spider-Man 2.1 was great, but this was just disturbing...

I disagree. The reboot was not done nearly as well as the first Rami film. Garfield was a insessative, selfish jerk in both films. The reboot lacked all the heart from the Rami version. After two Spiderman films under Webbs belt, the second Rami Spidey flick still remains to be the best Spiderman movie to date. Hopefully they get the third installment right or they replace Webb with a more compident director. Unfortunately we are looking like we are close to another Spidey reboot because Sony can't get Spidey right.

ASM1 and 2. The romance between Garfield and Stone was alot more believable and natural. Most of the fights and swinging scenes were handled well. I don't really like how every villain comes from Oscorp but Dehean did a better job than Dafoe and Franco combined. Even Jamie Foxx and Paul Giamatti did a decent job with the studio meddled script they had to work with. Same with Ifans

Almost all the characters in Raimi's films made sense. Mary Jane was just a damsel in distress that did almost nothing but give Peter other problems. All of the villains were created by a misunderstanding or poorly executed science experiment. The only exception was Topher Grace's Venom, who was probably the best villain in the trilogy. The only problem with him was that he kept pulling his face back

At the end of the trilogy, Harry was the only character that appeared to come full circle.

Well, my feelings about this new franchise are already clear. But in case anyone forgot:

1.Spider-Man 2
2.Spider-Man
3.The Amazing Spider-Man
4.Spider-Man 3
5.The Amazing Spider-Man 2

The only things the new ones have actually improved on is the visuals. Andrew and Tobey were both great in bringing their own different interpretations to life but Tobey just got the better scripts, that's all (aside from the 3rd one).
