Send In The Clowns! THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Wants Clowns, Mimes & Magicians

The latest casting call for Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is seeking anyone, male or female, with past experience as a clown, mime or magician. Do you have have what it takes?

Before you look at the casting call, I want you all to jog your memory. If you remember in July, director Marc Webb told The Hollywood Reporter that it would be difficult to create an original adversary for Spidey, but if he did...
“I do think it would be tricky to totally invent a major villain, but if I did that it would be The Mime. My big contribution would be a villain called The Mime. That’s a joke, by the way. A joke.

Now as he said above, it's "a joke," but perhaps this casting call for clowns, magicians, and especially French mimes is to put an inside joke into the film. Just a thought.

Or, let's go really outside the box, and assume Marc Webb wants to explore the plot from the Marvel comic book, Peter Parker: Spider-Man #38, which was, "Spidey faces his fiercest, and quietest, foes: murderous Mimes!" (Image on the right)

Totally called it, guys. This movie's gonna be a good one. I expect it'll be the best Spidey film to date. I'm hoping Green Goblin will appear at the end as well, but we'll have to wait and see.

people will connect this to something big, like Mysterio but then it usually ends with something small. I could see this being used for maybe a background at a carnival, birthday party, etc.

I wonder if someone is gonna say that TASM2 is being like another franchise also because clowns are gonna be in it........

That's easy. Our politicians would be perfect for those parts. They're all clowns. They're mimes, because they speak, yet say nothing. They're magicians, because they're full of illusions.
