Spider-Man: No Way Home ended the wall-crawler's MCU trilogy in style, but made it so that the world no longer remembers Peter Parker. Now, with MJ, Ned, and Flash Thompson all heading to MIT, their lives look set to continue without their old friend in it.
They all remember Spidey, though, and we have a feeling these characters will all cross paths again. In Flash's case, he's been a recurring presence in Peter's life on the page, going from enemy to friend to fellow superhero. Willow star Tony Revolori has yet to be given the opportunity to sink his teeth into that material, but could his chance come in Spider-Man 4?
Talking to us about his role in the upcoming Disney+ series alongside co-star Ellie Bamber, we asked Revolori if he hopes to return as Flash and whether he'd like to explore what would surely be a unique dynamic between him and Spider-Man.
Bamber, meanwhile, weighs in on possibly joining the MCU as either Gwen Stacy or Black Cat. She bears a striking resemblance to them both in Willow's early episodes, and is clearly up for joining Tony in the next Spider-Man trilogy based on what she tells us.
Check out an excerpt from our conversation with the Willow stars below.
I have to ask, Tony, with rumours Spider-Man 4 is somewhere on the horizon, are you hoping Flash and Spider-Man might cross paths, even if he doesn’t remember Peter now? There’s some fun to be had there, right?
Tony: Absolutely. I mean, I would be honoured to come back if that’s true. I don’t know yet and you would probably know more than me, but if it is true, I would love to come back. I would love to reprise the role. I think there’s so much fun to be had that he doesn’t remember now.
We can start that anew. He’s the character that’s always by his side, being a little bit of a pain, so hopefully, I get to continue doing that.
And Ellie, I can’t help but notice a resemblance between yourself and Gwen Stacy or even Black Cat, so how would you feel about joining Tony in that Spider-Man franchise?
Ellie: [Laughs] Oh my God, I would love that. Are you kidding? Sign me up if at all possible! I would love that.
Tony: Alright! Sign the contract there in blood…and we’re good!
Spider-Man 4 hasn't been officially announced by Marvel Studios or Sony Pictures, though recent reports have suggested it will be released in 2024. We've also heard that it will revolve around Spidey and Daredevil teaming up to battle The Kingpin, so whether there's room for Peter's old high school friends in that story is hard to say.
We'll see what happens as Spider-Man 4 begins to take shape in the coming months, but be sure to check back here soon for much more on Willow ahead of its November 30 premiere.
