With the success of Spider-Man: Homecoming, the friendly neighborhood web-slinger is back in a big way and next year is looking even bigger with his role in Avengers: Infinity War and his very own PlayStation-exclusive video game, Marvel's Spider-Man.

Since we were already treated to a pretty epic gameplay earlier this summer,
Insomiac Games, the developer behind Spidey PS4, has instead chosen to release a cool new behind-the-scenes video featuring interviews with Lead Writer Jon Paquette, Creative Director Bryan Intihar, and Art Director Jacinda Chew, who all provide bits and pieces of exciting info about one of the most anticipated superhero video games in recent memory.

Check out the video below:

Starring the world’s most iconic Super Hero, Spider-Man PS4 (working title) features the acrobatic abilities, improvisation and web-slinging that the wall-crawler is famous for, while also introducing elements never-before-seen in a Spider-Man game. From traversing with parkour and utilizing the environment, to new combat and blockbuster set pieces, it’s Spider-Man unlike any you’ve played before.

Marvel and Insomniac Games have teamed up to create a brand-new and authentic Spider-Man story. This isn’t the Spider-Man you’ve met before, or seen in a movie. This is an experienced Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in New York City. At the same time he’s struggling to balance his chaotic personal life and career while the fate of nine million New Yorkers rests upon his shoulders.

Marvel's Spider-Man arrives exclusively on PS4 in 2018

Hope the swinging isn't as slow as in that gameplay footage.

the spiderman games based n the sam raimi movies were fun to play. bring back good memories. The game looks great. hopefully it'll be to spiderman what the arkham games were to batman, or superhero games in general.

Looks great but I'm worried that there will be too many QTE's

Only a few concerns with this game;

- No option to kill enemies and inability to throw them off a building. Sure it's not like Spider-man to do so, but it's unrealistic and experience breaking to have them thrown back to you after throwing them over a ledge.

- Quick time events are not fun and basically feels like a cutscene which only completes if you press specific buttons at the right time. The gameplay footage included a few examples of this and each time it felt slow and tedious.

- The villain and henchmen at the moment seem fairly generic. The main villain goes from being a humanoid player model to a humanoid player model under a negative filter. The other villains we have seen are just varying levels of thugs. I'd prefer to have classic villains we could fight even if those were in side missions.
