Carnage Confirmed as Next Spider-Man Villain!

Carnage Confirmed as Next Spider-Man Villain!

Rumor over the past week or so has it that a certain red symbiote is going to be the focus of the next Spidey film. Now we have confirmation from Sony/Columbia that the speculation is serious...

UPDATE: 4/2 - If you haven't figured it out yet, this was an April Fool's Day fake story.

Earlier today Sony/Columbia studios confirmed what a lot of sources were saying. Here's the final word from the studio...

"We've heard the from the fans that Carnage is very popular, and we really want to deliver on this one. So, after careful consideration, we've decided that Carnage is going to be the villain that takes center stage in Spiderman 4."

On if Kirsten Dunst has been contacted on returning...

"Yeah, well, a lot of people don't like her, and she's not a natural red-head anyway. It's time for Peter Parker to develop a new love interest in Gwen Stacy (Bryce Howard), so, we'll probably kill off Mary Jane in this one. We're still figuring out how to do it. We want it to be gruesome and dark. It's all about the darkness these days."

Will the Lizard get his shot at villainy in Spidey 4?

"No. The Lizard is lame. (Laughs) That's kind of a running joke at the office. We set up Dr. Connors (who becomes the Lizard) as Peter's college professor from the first movie, and now we're doing 4 & 5 and are STILL passing him by for other characters."

So, there you have it. Let the discussion begin.

Shaman, you think someone at Marvel or FOX actually listens to the word of the fans? Absolutely not. This is some fagboys hilarious plot to make people go berzerk on April Fool's Day.

Listen douchebags, cut the bullshit with these fake posts. You're the reason why people make funs of comicbook fans.

Also, if you're going to fool someone, do it right. When you quote someone, you don't add in the parenthesis.

Wow. If you are gonna try to fake an interview with an executive. Maybe you can at least make the person you are supposed to be interviewing sound like an educated person. It sounds like you interviewed a 12 year old, and passed it off as a FOX Exec.

This is such an April fools joke, and it's not even funny. The Cap prank was a good one, but this could actually be true, and probably will be, but you can tell it's a joke because of the answers the Marvel rep. gave. No credible source would speak like that.

And there is no way in hell or any other place that they would make a "gruesome and dark" spiderman movie.

They will NEVER have Carnage in a spiderman film. If they did, it would be the worst vision of a character EVER!!

I vote Scorpion... AND then Mac Gargan/Venom!!

[frick] these movies. i say when the reboot comes. they go for a more dark and sinister route. much like they did with batman after their horrible bat nips and ambiguously gay duo.

Well, I hope at least the Mary Jane part is not true. Sounds too much like copying from TDK, which is certainly a bad move.

The Spidey Films will get their Reboot after the 6th film....15 years from now.

Hopefully, I'll still be alive, when they make them.

And this time, they'll do justice to Venom! And hopefully get an "R" Rating approved to do Carnage!

Awww. Who are we kidding. It'll never happen. :)

OK "Yeah, well, a lot of people don't like her, and she's not a natural red-head anyway" like any studio will allow that to be said! Not even Fox can screw people over like that!

Damn April fools, I was just gonna let all of my friends know, but then I thought F*** it's April Fool's so it's probably not true...I was hoping, praying, and dreaming it would be so though... I agree, about Mary Jane/Kirsten who would say that?? Especially someone from Columbia...hahahaha 100% not funny...They ave to bring the Lizard in at some point, otherwise his character will have loose ends... :(

i smelled fake from the beginning... that was one of the most unprofessional sources... not to mention he was just repeating the general reaction of the fans... sam raimi has most of the control on SM 4 and he has been clear in not killing her off...
Betty
Betty - 4/1/2009, 3:40 PM
No i think there is a little truth in this one. I read this a few days ago on another web site.

"Peter Parker now faces a even greater threat. After a man is accidentally killed in an electrical power outage; a mass murderer has bonded with a symbiote. Thus wreaking havoc as Peter faces this red rampage, as well as an electrifying madman."

This sounds like carnage and electro to me. Carnage could be the spiderman franchise's T-1000. Also, Raimi likes Dunst. I think she'll be back.

What make people think that making up stories about upcoming movies will make a GREAT April Fool's joke?
Justadjust
Justadjust - 4/1/2009, 4:08 PM
@Betty - That was also on here. But like I said before, IF Raimi really will have complete control, then its a no go.

Raimi has said that he is an old school fan and that he was not that familiar with Venom, but the studio forced him to add the character. If he is not familiar with Venom, the same can be presumed with Carnage (being that he is the latter). But if the studio pulls its same BS, then we can expect the same treatment on Carnage. Meaning a large F-you to the studio with another character dissapointment.

Trust me, I would LOVE to see Carnage on the big screen (and a redo of Venom), but it wont happen in a Spiderman movie.

Of course if Raimi leaves the franchise, then thats another story.
