Hilary Duff auditioning for Spider-Man reboot

Hilary Duff auditioning for Spider-Man reboot

Gwen, Mary Jane, or another?

In this interview about her husband Mike Comrie, it mentions their having the script for "Spider-Man" with the role listed as "girl" for the love interest. Specifically in this part under the section titled Mr.Duff:

Although tastefully furnished (Comrie says he's unsure if anything is from The Brick), it is relatively humble by Beverly Hills standards. The kitchen contains evidence of their professional lives – his daily diet is posted on the fridge (from a bacon cheddar burrito for breakfast to five pigs-in-a-blanket as a nighttime snack) and a script marked “Spider-Man” sits on the table, with lines for a character simply called “girl” highlighted in yellow (rumors swirl about who Spidey's love interest will be in the series' next installment.)

Sweetre15: Also judging from Duff's looks I have a hunch that she's likely in contention for Gwen Stacy. Look at this pic:

gwen or black cat probably maybe mj but idk about this she's pretty but can she act and again isn't she too old? oh yeah that's right they already have Garfield who is nearly 30 so... next they'll hire a mj that's 60 or more...

sweetre15 - 9/5/2010, 1:49 PM
@otherside: She was good in "Raise Your Voice" IMO which was the only film I've ever seen her in. Also she's only 22 and she doesnt look much different than when she played a teen in "Raise Your Voice"

About her age: She is an immortal star like Keanu Reaves. Who cares?
About her talent: She certainly is no Keanu Reaves but has no place in this.

She might be able to pull it off. I havent seen her act in a long time, but she is still beautiful. Gwen stacy!

Funny enough,I just found out that Webb has previously worked with her when he directed one of her music videos in 2005 for one of her songs called Wake Up

Lucaxmen @ I really hope she does get it lol! : p

Then we can forget about this and have a real SPIDEY movie, SPIDER-MAN 4!
sweetre15
sweetre15 - 9/5/2010, 6:19 PM
@LEE777: Why Spider-Man 4,so we can see John Malkovich dress up like a fricking bird?(Raimi wanted Vulture) No thanks!!
LEEE777
LEEE777 - 9/5/2010, 6:30 PM
Sweetre15 @ Did I say a RAIMI sequel.... no lol!

SPIDER-MAN 4: continuation reboot: (KRAVEN & LIZARD) new SPIDEY & MJ no more origin BS and GREEN GOBLIN!

Who wants an ULTI SPIDEY movie, coz thats what we're gonna get from WEBB.

No thanx!!! : D
sweetre15
sweetre15 - 9/5/2010, 6:37 PM
@LEE777: It'll likely be more like the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon more than Ultimate if that's what you're worried about seeing as how Gwen is going to likely be the main love interest this time. Also remember that the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon was a Sony Pictures cartoon as well, lol.

USM is only mostly the basic because of the modern day world, and the darker and grittier tone as well as focusing on Peter Parker developing his powers and getting himself into trouble and accepting the consequences of his own actions in his life as a teen but it still wont be a Literal adaptation since clues point to the Lizard being the villain afterall

Maybe she's playing herself much like Macey Gray did in Spider-man Uno. Ha ha ha ha. This movie is going to suck. Where's spiderman2o29 to hate on this?
LEEE777
LEEE777 - 9/5/2010, 7:35 PM
Sweetre15 @ LMAO in your dreams bud, no seriously...

WEBB basically said he wants something completely different and in many interview has hinted and said ULTIMATE!

Dude I've only seen a handful of them toons, I read the comics lol.

I just know we're getting HULK GOBLIN,,, gonna make SPIDEY 3 look like The Godfather! : (
sweetre15
sweetre15 - 9/5/2010, 7:56 PM
@LEE777: Webb said that he LIKES Ultimate Spider-Man but the script was already written before he signed on but that doesn't mean it's going to be a direct translation of those comics.(I like USM so far btw) Also just look at the info on this film and it looks like it'll pay tribute to Both USM and SSM.

I like both comics and toons for Spidey but I'd rather see USM Goblin before I ever see Baldylocks(Vulture) onscreen though, lol.

Plus in the first volume Goblin came off as Psychotic but Bendis screwed the pooch in the later comics with Goblin.

Sweetre: Please, don't bother trying to bring in logic or reasoning when talking to Lee about these things. It never works. Ever. He will insist on complaining on every article about the reboot despite stating all the time that he has no interest in it, calling Garfield "the A$$ we have" despite probably never seeing him act, whining about it being influenced by Ultimate Spidey despite probably never reading it, etc. He can't get past the fact that Sony didn't cater to his specific needs and desires and will shit all over them any chance he gets, no matter how illogical he is. Not to mention insulting everyone who disagrees with him about it and, in general, talking down to them in that classic, condescending, "I'm so much better than you because I'm a real fan! According to me!" way. And lest we forget, his constant barrage of contradictions. It's f*cking ridiculous.

I'm usually pretty open about auditions and casting, but frick no to Hilary Duff. There are so many more better looking blonde chicks that could take care of the same role she wants.

Since Someone felt the need to put a music video,I thought I should put up one as well, here's her music video that was coincidentally directed by MARC WEBB:

Now this doesnt necessarily mean that she'll get cast BUT I'd be in denial to think that this factor wouldn't/couldnt work in her favor.
sweetre15
sweetre15 - 9/7/2010, 8:15 PM
@spiderman2029: Actually I just watched "Greta",one of her recent indie films and she actually seems to have improved since then but to be honest she's not my first choice because I'm still rooting for Imogen Poots and Teresa Palmer but atleast shes not another Megan Fox,Kirsten Stewart,or Miley Cyrus in the acting department. However,I still think that they SHOULD try to veer away from famous celebs but I wouldnt boycott if she was cast.
